Mother's Day Celebration

Mother's Day is a holiday to celebrate and thank mothers, usually a day for families to gather together. In my country, it falls on the second weekend of May and restaurants are usually fully booked. Since my family is very small for some reasons and we wanted to avoid the crowds, we planned to celebrate early; I meant today.

In my community, there's a gratitude event where residents can go to the community office and pick up small gifts prepared for them. I went to check it out and surprisingly, I didn't have to wait in a long queue to get my gift because I left early.

After that, we went to a small restaurant that we booked in advance to celebrate Mother's Day. It's not a famous restaurant, but it gave us a comfortable feeling. Since there weren't many people attending this year, we didn't order a lot of food, just some regular dishes to share. The dessert we ordered was a rainbow cake that looked pretty, and we didn't want to ruin it, so we savored it slowly.

Overall, mothers always say that the thought is what counts. They don't really care about going out to celebrate or receiving gifts. As long as their children have gratitude in their hearts, they don't have to worry about the form of celebration. Just having it is enough.
