I love coffee with alcohol ❤️☕, in fact coffee in all its variants 🤤. The union creates a harmonious sensory experience that offers a pleasant contrast between the bitterness of coffee and the sweetness of the chosen liquor, whether it be a classic Irish coffee with whiskey and cream, a spiced coffee liqueur or a creative coffee cocktail.

You are a lover of the extreme and the intense. I don't like liquor very much, but I once tried whiskey cream, without coffee, it is very delicious, but the discomfort the next day is terrible, hehe.

Thank you for sharing your comment with us.
I leave you a cup of delicious coffee. ☕

Happy weekend.

We agree on the same thing, we don't like liquor with coffee, hehehe...
Here it is customary to drink coffee with cane liquor. I have tried it and it is really very strong, so much so that it hits the senses more intensely than caffeine alone.

Your coffee looks delicious, you already made me want a very dark coffee. Hehe.

Happy weekend.

That idea of cane liquor in coffee sounds interesting. I never thought of it, but I can see that happening in places where sugarcane is prominent.✅

Good point there. Maybe that explains why I never really thought to mix them much, apart from not-so-pleasant experiments... this explains it.

My girlfriend from Northern Ireland made me an authentic Irish coffee with special ingredients from home, and it was divine 😋

The traditional. But... the question I leave you with is the following: would you dare to try a Solera coffee? Which is coffee with milk and red wine. Or a Cuban Carajillo, with a stronger liqueur? I invite you, my friend. Homemade with love ☕💜

How cool is this Initiative and yes, I love alcohol in coffee and how can I not love it if I work as a bartender, so in addition to the wide variety of cocktails with coffee, I like to experiment flavors.

I always enjoy coffee, no matter what. On one occasion I made with my husband (who is also a professional bartender) this cocktail with espresso, cream and diplomatic rum. I garnished it with some coffee beans and the cup had been previously smoked in a smoker with coffee beans and cinnamon.

The experience with the senses was unique, from the moment you smelled it, the visual, until you drank it. Undoubtedly exquisite.

It's so cool how invested you are, and how much pleasure you get in experimenting. It's one aspect of bartending or barrista work that's always appealed to me -- the learning curve. What exactly is a smoked cup? The whole thing sounds delicious, by the way. Makes me wish I had the skills to make it myself ;)

Smoking the glass is about putting on fire spices that go according to your cocktail, in this case coffee beans and cinnamon, these with a touch of liquor and fire, it starts to burn slightly creating an aromatic smoke and right there we place the cobra upside down so that all the smoke does not escape, but permeates the glass, thus giving it aroma.
While we are preparing the cocktail and when it is ready, we turn the glass upside down, add the mixture inside and serve.

The surface where you are going to burn can be a wood that is special for that, if you don't have it you can do it in a porcelain plate. You can do it yourself.

In the afternoons when I drink coffee I sometimes add a touch of aniseed liqueur. Delicious!

This comment made me smile. I do like a little Baileys in my coffee, and I've tried rum, but I can't say that was the best combination 😆
I've always been interested in a Barista course too, and bartending would be awesome for making lovely cocktails. I used to work in a resort and have tried making cocktails, but a bar environment is not for me. My tolerance for alcohol is low, and even the strong scent makes me tipsy, which makes me laugh uncontrollably.
Thanks for the explanation about a smoked cup, cos I was gonna ask 🙌

I'm glad you liked my comment, you can try to make cocktails at home, without the bar atmosphere.
Maybe when you added the rum to the coffee that type of rum did not go with the type of coffee and did not balance the flavors, that usually happens. Now Baileys is very rich in coffee.

I will post two photos…

Thus is because I don’t have any photo of coffee mixed with alcohol. Some people enjoy Irish or Jamaican rum coffee, but I never tend to mix these two drinks.

Pure Single Malt, or pure Specialty coffee. These two varieties are so good that I want to enjoy them without any additives. But now I start thinking… If I mix excellent quality coffee with excellent wuality whisky, will the result still be excellent? Maybe yes?

In the case when you have poor wuality coffee, the whiskey addition may improve a bit the whole situarion. The bitter coffee taste may be balanced with the delicate sweetness of the alcohol. But really… I don’t think I will ever try this. 😁

Don't be afraid to mix, if the two products are of excellent quality neither will be overshadowed, but will have prominence together.

I think that many people are afraid of cocktails because when they see that we use quality products, they think that the flavors will be opaque or lost, but that's not true. The flavors of the products are still there and are mixed to form a unique harmony. You feel everything from the smell, to the first sip and aftertaste.

Coffee and cocoa are the best alloys when it comes to mixing with a liqueur, it's a safe bet, as they say. I usually say "if you want a combination in a tasting that does not fail, it should be with coffee or cocoa" and that is why most rum, liqueur and other tastings have chocolate or coffee.

To be fair, I think whiskey works well in everything -- coffee, ice cream, even certain meals, maybe. That being said, while I love a good cup of Irish coffee, I couldn't have it every day. I think part of the pleasure here is the rarity. Like, you get a cup with whiskey or rum or cinnamon or chocolate, but it's just this once. Or once a week. Or once a month. If you had it everyday, it'd get boring and, I imagine, considerably less exciting.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Besides, it is not for every day, I would not only mix it with coffee but also with some liquor, rum, aniseed, etc.

My daily coffee is black without sugar, with milk for some dessert, cold frappé with cookies and others for when I feel like something refreshing and tasty, like a dessert type drink. With some liquor to enjoy an afternoon with my husband.

I'm already in the mood for one for later 🤣. It's barely 12 noon here

According to Alice, you could see Time wasted 🤣

If you knew Time as well as I do,' said the Hatter, 'you wouldn't talk about wasting it.

I'm wasted after a shot of aniseed, plus it elevates body temperature a lot. It's not my favorite for a shot at noon, not here on the threshold of the flames of hell 🥵

While living in the Philippines, I stumbled on the strangest meal combination.
I love chicken liver with Sherry and onions, but I did not have any Sherry and decided to use some Whiskey. It was the most delicious thing ever served with lots of herbs.

I think part of the pleasure here is the rarity

I agree with that 100%

Hi, coffee lovers!

I've never tried coffee drinks with liqueur in a bar, in a coffee shop, or anywhere else outside my home; although I've tasted many drinks made with coffee liqueur (especially Kalua), but they don't really taste like coffee to me. Maybe it's because I don't really like coffee liqueur.

But

do [I] enjoy alcohol in coffee?

Yes, I definitely enjoy it!

At home, I've mixed hot coffee with a splash of brandy (10:1). I have also made Black Russian (with more black than Russian, hehe). I really like this one I made tonight, especially to share with you at the Coffee Conversation, one of many "crazy coffees" (café loco: coffee with alcohol) I've made at home on the weekends.

image.png

When I was in my twenties, I often found myself in that situation where you still have half a beer to finish, and your friend's mom offers you "afternoon coffee." For me, it was always yes. So I know what a good coffee and cheap beer tastes like 😂 I didn't mix them; I drank from the cup and the bottle. It was one of those weird sensory moments like when toothpaste mixes a little with your first shot of coffee in the morning.

🤭coffee with beer, I have never tried it, despite making it separately it must have a strange taste. Maybe I would try 'the crazy coffee'🥴 hehe.

I can't imagine coffee tasting like beer, although I think I wouldn't dare make that combination even if taken separately because it would still mix in the stomach. We were young and stupid, hehe. Now, twenty years later, I'm more careful but not much wiser when it comes to trying new food and drinks 😂 I like to experiment. Sometimes, I'm sitting with my husband at the kitchen table and one of us will stare at an ingredient in the kitchen and say, what if we try this with that? So we've come to have a list of favorite dishes and drinks that only happen here at home.

My problem with coffee drinks with liquor is that sometimes they tend to be too sweet, so I'm not a big fan of them, although I do like rum and coffee, Araku. I find it delicious. And I would love to taste the mix you did with coconut milk and whiskey;)

Beer and coffee is a combination I don't like, haha. In a place of craft beers, once I tasted one that had an aftertaste of coffee and to be honest it was the one I liked the least even though I really like beer and coffee, of course.

But coffee plus beer for me is a No no jeje

Then you might like this one because you don't need to add any sugar; it's sweet enough from the coconut. It's a soft, round drink. I'll bet you're going to love it.

I love both Coffee and Tea and my day starts with the tea and biscuits.
I am non alcoholic so never like to add alcohol in my coffee or tea.
Love to add milk and sugar.
One doubt - can we post our tea stories in the community?
Or it is specific for coffee lover only.

I haven't had coffee with alcohol yet, but one day I would like to try the famous Irish coffee, I can only imagine how delicious this combination must be.

For now I am delighted with a combination that I prepared at home, cafe affogato style, the flavor of the ice cream together with the espresso coffee is really fascinating.

I remember when I was little my dad had a time when he liked Irish Coffee and made it at home. But I was too young to drink coffee and less liquor, hehe.

Your affogato looks delicious, and I'm craving one now, hehe :)

It would be great to try it out. My favourite coffee shop makes it but I never dare to ask for it 🤭.
One day I'll come and order: 1 Irish please.

That affogato looks divine. It's like to spill a few drops of rum at least 🤣.

Here in my country it is customary to accompany coffee with Aguardiente from this region. The combination is extremely strong, the bitterness of the coffee and the liqueur are enhanced and make it a 'bomb of sensations' so to speak. Hehe.

This mixture is mainly used to accompany wakes, where the mood needs to be lifted a bit in the face of great sadness. In Mexico it is also very common and there they call it 'Piquete', as its name suggests it is very very spicy. Hehe.

In my personal taste it doesn't really appeal to me since I'm not much of a liquor lover. I have tried it, but it does not fascinate me as much as the delicious coffee in its natural state with all its properties intact.

To end my commentary I leave you two photos, one of the coffee I drink regularly and the other of the liqueur called 'Aguardiente'.

Hello to all my coffee-loving friends, I have been reading your opinions and comments about coffee with some liquor, and I am sure that as "General Culture " I will take it into account, but I really prefer my delicious coffee without alcohol, I think it takes away its essence, the liquor I will take it apart, hahaha!

Here in this image I want to show you my morning coffee, preferably black and with sugar!☕️😋

I'm not a big fan of coffee with liquor to be honest, I may drink it once in a while after a big meal, but it's not something I do very often.

I prefer to drink Araku if I want a mix of liquor and coffee. It's a Venezuelan rum with coffee. It's delicious.
I like it cold with ice.

I really liked the bottle, it is very elegant with that beautiful coffee. I didn't know there was a coffee-based liqueur. Very ingenious.

My perfect combination is with milk since I love coffee with milk and if you add a touch of chocolate it is glory 🤭.

At Christmas the best cream punch is coffee punch One of the drinks that we love the most and that brightens our lives is the Christmas punch. It is the quintessential drink to enjoy with the family, it has a special flavor that we all love at home.

From time immemorial we bought the traditional Eliodoro Gonzáles brand but as the years went by my aunt began to prepare a homemade punch which is a delight, I think it has nothing to envy of Eliodoro's cream punch. 😊

Last year we came up with the idea of preparing the version with coffee and it really turned out too good. So I leave you this option that I am sure you will love.

It already smells like Christmas and with it the most beautiful memories emerge. 🍸

With Cuban coffee I learned a new way of drinking coffee ☕

When I was a teenager we visited the mountains of Merida in Venezuela. We stayed in San Rafael de Mucuchies at 4000 metres above sea level. That night the temperature dropped to -6 degrees Celsius and I got to know coffee with rice liquor. This gave us the warmth we needed not to freeze to death 🤭. I didn't like it very much because the rice liquor was very strong.

Over the years I travelled to Cuba and got to know Solera coffee. Which is coffee with milk and red wine. I loved it. I confess that I hesitated a bit but finally I dared to try it and I fell in love with this flavour. Ideal to relieve thirst in the heat and give you energy. I could even say that it is an aphrodisiac (or maybe it was the excitement of being with the love of my life in a coffee shop in your country 🤭☕).

This small cafeteria is in the municipality of Florida in Camagüey. They served us once a Carajillo Cubano a bit strong for my taste but refreshing and energizing.

These are the 3 types of coffee with liqueur that I have tasted outside my home. Now as a family we like to make cold brew coffee cocktails from time to time or add coffee liqueur to coffee to accentuate its delicious taste. The idea is to enjoy coffee with a kick, as I call it. Always in the best style of Cuba and Venezuela together. With a family flavour.

And you, do you dare to try a coffee?

I drink coffee with alcohol, very little but I do. I leave it only for moments when I need a little push or require encouragement.
In the image you can see a coffee with wiskey but I like it better with brandy, although I don't have it for the moment; anyway, cheers!
