Synopsis
The Last Kingdom is a series that takes its story in England ruled by the "Christians", often surrounded by the Norse hordes, where, in the middle of all this crossfire, we have "Uhtred of Bebbanburg", a child born into royalty, heir as his surname says of Bebbanburg, This, in the times in which he was a child, was kidnapped from his native kingdom by a Viking invasion, then being raised as one of them and receiving his surname, throughout his upbringing, he developed great combat skills, leadership and eloquence. With the dream of ever returning to his homeland, "Uhtred" confronts the Norse and sometimes the Christians, finding himself caught between two worlds, with only one goal in mind, to regain his place in Bebbanburg. Will Uhtred be able to fulfill his dream?
Opinion
Initially, the story develops quite slowly for what I'm used to, however, as the chapters go by, the development of the story and characters in this series, becomes so incredible that I could even compare it to Vikings, since, besides being brought by the same studio, the story recurrently mentions some of their most emblematic characters, this is because they are historical for the Viking culture, besides, I love to see how they develop all the characters, taking their time to polish them as much as possible, it is extremely charming to appreciate each and every one of the details, the emotions in the environment make me be totally enchanted with what this series presents.
Now, taking into account my general opinion, I will proceed to highlight the features that, in my opinion, are the most outstanding and the ones I liked the most:
History: The story behind this series called my attention, since it is not the simple story oriented to a single side, in it we can appreciate a lot of things, such as the cultural division that can be seen in the main character, discrimination, among others.
Emotions: Another aspect that stands out very well are the "Emotions", despite being focused on a world of tough characters, the emotions that are experienced here are at the surface, things like love, hate, dedication, motivation, etc.. Are perfectly captured here.
Scenarios
The scenarios in this series have an enormous diversity, so I would like to highlight the great quality and variety that they have, since we will be mostly focused on "England", unlike "Vikings", in which we were both in this place and in Norway, where they are native.
For this series, we will be able to see our characters in places like castles, dungeons, camps, prairies, etc. In where each of the battles that we will be able to see will be developed, besides, I liked that the characters took advantage of the field in this, for the simple fact that the same ones raised strategies according to the terrain of fight.
Religion
This is a very delicate subject for any person, since we will be able to see the enormous cultural difference, which is based on the religion that one or the other characters have, obviously we have the "Christian" side against the "Viking", in which each one defends their beliefs.
The truth is, I would not want to go too much into these religious themes, since it could imply something else, but in this type of series it is essential to talk about them, since, for communication, negotiations, wars and any kind of interaction between believers of God and Vikings, it is absolutely necessary.
As we well know, this is something that defines us a lot, what they want to frame in the series, or at least what I understood, is to show the history behind the creation of what is known today as England, the hard religious work that they had to do, supported by their enormous faith, while, on the other hand, the Viking culture sought to plunder everything.
Confrontations
Totally incredible, these fights are pure carnage on the part of the enemies confronted, in this amazing series, recurrently we will be able to appreciate one on one battles, wars and mental confrontations, on the part of all the characters involved, since each one has his style of battle and not all of them go to the front of the combat.
I certainly liked them all, since they do not censor practically anything, obviously if it is a series with this theme, it would be very silly to do so, but in general I have no complaints about these fights, since they were very well executed, beautifully capturing the emotions of death, war and many others.
Characters
Now, we begin what would be my favorite section, I know I always comment on it, however, it is the part that most excites me to write, because, thanks to the characters, is that the story develops and also, particularly in this series, the story is quite good, as well as complex, so, taking this into consideration, I will proceed to detail the characters that I liked the most:
Uhtred of Bebbanburg: Bebbanburg's born son, a man who was raised among all kinds of tragedies, which forged the man he is today, visionary, great warrior and a born leader, in pursuit of his goal, this man faces a thousand dangers, to fulfill his dreams, while protecting all the people who are by his side, also, recurrently betrayed, this man holds titles such as "The Danish Killer" or "Protector of Wessex", this character has an incredible maturity and development throughout the series, becoming one of my favorites. What terrible dangers await Uhtred?
King Alfred: He ascended to the throne after the death of his brother, with a really fragile body, but having an extremely sharp mind, Alfred is the king of Wessex, which is in charge of protecting it under the grace of God, although this has absolutely no qualities for battle, his intelligence is what makes him stand out as a great ruler, this character is one of my favorites for several factors, first the great reputation he got, followed by a character worthy of a king, love and faith are the things that guide this man to protect his kingdom. Will Alfred be able to protect his kingdom?
Aethelwold: Heir legitimized to the throne of Wessex, this young nephew of Alfred, was stripped of his title by right, due to the great incompetence that the same possesses, dedicating all his life to alcohol and women, when his father died, the same decreed that his heir would be Alfred, thing that left "Aethelwold" in disgrace, seeking his ascension to the throne, this man speaks with snake tongue, deceiving frequently, speaking evil and placing all kinds of dirty traps in order to get closer to his goal. Will this boy get his throne?

I have reached the end of another review post of a series that I found very good despite its somewhat slow start, also, in my opinion, it is totally worth it and more if you like this kind of series with stories that go back many years, with an incredible development and different from what I've been writing, on the other hand, to see a character like Uhtred, watch his growth and how he faces so many calamities, it's amazing. If you have time watch it, it's a bit long, but you won't regret it.

Sinopsis
The Last Kingdom es una serie que lleva su historia en la Inglaterra gobernada por los “Cristianos”, rodeada frecuentemente por las hordas nórdicas, donde, tenemos en medio de todo este fuego cruzado a “Uhtred de Bebbanburg”, un niño nacido en la realeza, heredero como su apellido lo dice de Bebbanburg, este, en los tiempos en los cuales era un niño, fue secuestrado de su reino natal por parte de una invasión Vikinga, para luego ser criado como uno de ellos y recibiendo su apellido, a lo largo de su crianza, este desarrollo unas grandes habilidades de combate, liderazgo y elocuencia. Con el sueño de alguna vez volver a su tierra, “Uhtred” se enfrenta a los nórdicos y en ocasiones a los cristianos, viéndose involucrado entre dos mundos, con una sola meta por delante, recuperar su puesto en Bebbanburg. ¿Podra Uthred cumplir su sueño?
Opinión
Inicialmente, la historia se desarrolla de forma bastante lenta para lo que estoy acostumbrada, sin embargo, con el pasar de los capítulos, el desarrollo de la historia y personajes en esta serie, se vuelve tan increíble que podría inclusive llegar a compararla con Vikingos, puesto que, además de ser traída por el mismo estudio, la historia menciona recurrentemente algunos de sus personajes más emblemáticos, esto es debido a que, los mismos son históricos para la cultura Vikinga, ademas, me encanta el ver como desarrollan a todos los personajes, tomándose su tiempo de pulirlos lo más posible, es sumamente encantador apreciar todos y cada uno de los detalles, las emociones en el ambiente hacen que quede totalmente encantada con lo que esta seria presenta.
Ahora bien, tomando en cuenta mi opinión general, procederé a destacar las características que, a mi parecer son las mas destacables y las que más me gustaron:
Historia: La historia detrás de esta serie llamo bastante mi atención, ya que no es la simple historia orientada e un solo bando, en la misma podemos apreciar una gran cantidad de cosas, como lo serian, la división cultural que se puede apreciar en el personaje principal, discriminación, entre otros.
Emociones: Otro aspecto que destaca muy bien son las “Emociones”, a pesar de estar centrados en un mundo de personajes rudos, las emociones que se viven aquí están a flor de piel, cosas como el amor, odio, entrega, motivación, etc. Son perfectamente plasmadas aquí.
Escenarios
Los escenarios en esta serie tienen una enorme diversidad, así que, quisiera resaltar la gran calidad y variedad que poseen los mismos, ya que mayormente estaremos centrados en “Inglaterra”, a diferencia de “Vikingos”, en la cual estábamos tanto en este lugar como en Noruega, donde son nativos los mismos.
Para esta serie, podremos ver a nuestros personajes en sitios como castillos, mazmorras, campamentos, praderas, etc. En donde se desarrollarán cada una de las batallas que podremos ver, ademas, me gusto bastante que los personajes se aprovecharan del campo en esto, por el simple hecho de que los mismos planteaban estrategias acordes al terreno de pelea.
Religion
Esto es un tema bastante delicado para cualquier persona, ya que recurrentemente podremos ver la enorme diferencia cultural, la cual se basa en la religión que poseen unos u otros personajes, obviamente tenemos al lado “Cristiano” contra el “Vikingo”, en el cual cada uno defiende sus creencias.
La verdad, no quisiera entrar mucho en estos temas religiosos, puesto que podría darse a entender otra cosa, pero en este tipo de series es imprescindible hablar de las mismas, puesto que, para la comunicación, negociaciones, guerras y cualquier tipo de interacción entre creyentes de Dios y Vikingos, la misma es absolutamente necesaria.
Como bien sabemos, esto es algo que nos define mucho, lo que quieren enmarcan en la serie, o al menos lo que yo entendí, es dar a conocer la historia que hubo detrás de toda la creación de lo que se conoce hoy en día como Inglaterra, el arduo trabajo religioso que estos tuvieron que realizar, apoyados de su enorme fe, mientras que, por otro lado, la cultura Vikinga buscaba saquear todo.
Enfrentamientos
Totalmente increíbles, estos combates son pura carnicería por parte de los enemigos enfrentados, en esta asombrosa serie, recurrentemente podremos apreciar batallas de uno a uno, guerras y enfrentamientos mentales, por parte de todos los personajes implicados, ya que cada uno tiene su estilo de batalla y no todos van al frente del combate.
Todos me gustaron ciertamente, puesto que, no censuran prácticamente nada, obviamente si se trata de una serie con esta temática, sería muy tonto hacerlo, pero en general no tengo ninguna queja de estas peleas, puesto que estuvieron muy bien ejecutadas, plasmando bellamente las emociones de la muerte, la guerra entre muchas otras.
Personajes
Ahora bien, comenzamos la que sería mi sección favorita, sé que siempre la comento, sin embargo, es la parte que más me emociona escribir, ya que, gracias a los personajes, es que se desarrolla la historia y ademas, particularmente en esta serie, dicha historia es bastante buena, a su vez que compleja, así que, tomando esto en consideración, procederé a detallar a los personajes que más me gustaron:
Uhtred de Bebbanburg: Hijo nato de Bebbanburg, un hombre que fue criado entre todo tipo de tragedias, las cuales forjaron al hombre que es hoy en día, visionario, gran guerrero y un líder nato, en búsqueda de su objetivo, este hombre se enfrenta a un millar de peligros, para cumplir sus sueños, a la vez que protege a todas las personas que están a su lado, ademas, traicionado recurrentemente, este hombre ostenta títulos como "El asesino de Daneses" o "Protector de Wessex", este personaje posee una increíble madurez y desarrollo a lo largo de la serie, convirtiéndose en uno de mis favoritos. ¿Qué terribles peligros esperan a Uhtred?
Rey Alfred: Ascendió al trono luego de la muerte de su hermano, con un cuerpo realmente frágil, pero teniendo una mente en extremo aguda, Alfred es el rey de Wessex, el cual está encargado de protegerlo bajo la gracia de Dios, si bien este no tiene absolutamente ninguna cualidad para batalla, su inteligencia es lo que hace que el mismo destaque como un gran gobernante, este personaje es de mis favoritos por diversos factores, primero la gran reputación que consiguió, seguido de un carácter digno de un rey, el amor y la fe son las cosas que guían a este hombre para proteger su reino. ¿Podrá Alfred proteger su reino?
Aethelwold: Heredero legitimó al trono de Wessex, este joven sobrino de Alfred, fue despojado de su título por derecho, debido a la gran incompetencia que el mismo posee, dedicando toda su vida al alcohol y mujeres, al morir su padre, el mismo decreto que su heredero seria Alfred, cosa que dejo a “Aethelwold” en la desgracia, buscando su ascenso al trono, este hombre habla con lengua de serpiente, engañando frecuentemente, hablando mal y colocando todo tipo de trampas sucias con tal de acercarse más a su objetivo. ¿Conseguirá este chico su trono?

He llegado al final de otro post de reseña de una serie que me ha parecido muy buena a pesar de su inicio algo lento, ademas, en mi opinión, vale totalmente la pena y más si les gustan este tipo de series con historias que se remontan a muchos años atrás, con un desarrollo increíble y diferente a lo que he estado escribiendo, por otro lado, ver un personaje como Uhtred, observar su crecimiento y como se enfrenta a tantas calamidades, es increíble. Si tienen tiempo véanla, es algo larga, pero no se arrepentirán.
