Review 47 Ronin [ENG-ESP]

Synopsis
Positioning ourselves in the Feudal era of Japan, we are introduced to a young boy named Kai, which is discovered by Samurais, being this a half-breed child (has no pure Japanese lineage), where he is raised by these men and trained to belong to his clan, however, this child throughout his life until his adulthood, suffers all the discrimination and humiliation for being a half-breed of special characteristics, as this has unique combat qualities and mystical powers that are strange to normal humans.
One day the leader of his clan Lord Asano dies due to a betrayal and they are stripped of their lands and turned into Ronin, which means that they are Samurai without a master who can guide them, destined to die without honor, they are dispersed and humiliated. It is then when one of these Ronin is released and gathers all his soldiers to avenge his Lord, guided by his captain, and with the advice of Kai they seek to defeat alone a powerful army of soldiers in order to regain their lost honor. Will these 47 Ronin succeed in their mission?
Opinion
I found this incredible movie on Netflix when I had nothing to watch in the evenings, the name caught my attention and well I decided to watch it, I got down to work and the first thing I saw is that one of my favorite actor's stars in it, this is the incredible "Keanu Reeves", which is a professional in his roles, also as I was watching more I was immersed in the plot that is totally appealing to fans of Japanese culture, the battles and techniques deployed are very good, the scenery totally brutal, an amazing thing in my opinion and characters that although not all were developed to the point that I would like, those who perfectly argued their role are brutal, the particular magic was fantastic, things taken from Feudal Japan as mythical beasts, spells, curses are things that we can see very often in this film.
The structure of the buildings also seemed to be very good and attached to what should be and is reflected in the rest of films and series what is remembered of the time and culture, in my opinion, to be a movie about 9 years ago and that many said it was a "Failure", I really loved it. In addition to this, finger detail other things like:
Swords: Initially all the fighters carried normal Japanese steel katanas, made from the San Mai forging technique, which is based on bending the steel in layers in order to compress it and give it greater hardness, typical in this type of swords. However, then we can see some mythical and extremely beautiful swords worthy of meeting the expectations of being carried by these Ronin.
Keanu Reeves: One of my all-time favorite actors, with incredible roles done in the Matrix and John Wick movie sagas, this man is a character of cinematic history, since for action movies, his movements, fighting techniques, acting, and gestures are totally pure and exciting, in the case of 47 Ronin is not for less.
Magic: I never thought I could find this particular within this story, I thought it would be an action movie with obviously extravagant movements like the ones we saw when I did my Review of Samurai X - The Origin, but this gave a more appealing touch to the fights, I quite liked the fact that it was not exaggerated to the point of throwing fireballs and this kind of things, in that sense, as they created and developed it looks perfect.
Scenarios
From the first features that managed to catch me in the plot, we have some of the most polished settings, with lush forests, scenes in ships in the style of Pirates of the Caribbean, fortresses worthy of being inhabited by Samurai and besides this, our protagonists can go into villages where the social class is very clear, being these completely destroyed. In my opinion, all these features are very well done, since in this type of story these details should not be neglected.
Philosophy
For every fan of Japan, its culture, history, and anime are excellent, also in the Feudal Era, the honor, law, integrity, and codes of a Samurai were everything for the Japanese, totally strict in their lifestyle, a particularly impressive, being able to sacrifice themselves for their pride and that of their family to avoid dishonor, bad reputation. They fought in the battlefields and wars for the Shōgun, their beloved homeland and family, being capable of anything (as long as it implied dying with honor) thanks to the fundamentals with which they were educated, the philosophy was so much that they achieved ranks, properties, money and many other things following only the way of the sword.
Battles
We come to what I always say is my favorite section, which I love since I'm a big fan of action and science fiction movies. As I said before, I assume in principle that it will be the typical one-on-one or group sword fights where the protagonist would surely stand out with techniques that were above the other characters or an immovable and unwavering motivation, aspect that in some part was so, but I was impressed by the fact that not always depend on their swords or techniques to kill their enemies, we can appreciate here hand to hand combat techniques, submission or many others that give the battles a very good touch.
At the same time as I already explained, the magical effects in this saga are of speed and movements that are rarely seen and I did not expect them to be like this, I was engrossed watching the effects of these battles with such a level of polish and precision, something incredible for a film that already has years of trajectory and that of course deserved a kind of continuation to tell even more of its story.
Characters
Now let's talk about the characters, as I mentioned there were some that I liked more than others due to the fact that they were developed very well and others that had more potential to develop their character more didn't, but these are things that we can always see, in my case I tend to fall in love a lot with the antagonists, I feel quite attached to them, but well, going to the point of this section, let's proceed to choose 3 of these:
Kai: A young half-breed son of a peasant girl and a Dutchman, a total aberration for Japan, since in the eyes of his people this is not one of them and spends his whole life suffering humiliations and being the target of contempt, as the years go by he develops very good combat skills and at the same time hides his qualities with magic, When the death of his Lord occurs, he is sold as a slave and forced to fight with all kinds of enemies, until he is recruited again to seek his revenge and honor. ***Can Kai get the merits he deserves?
Lord Kira: A man extremely cynical and ruthless, hungry for greatness and get everything he can reach and destroy what he can not possess, this and his witch resorts to magic to organize a trap in which they manage to kill Lord Asano, with the sole purpose of seizing his daughter and get all their land, this guy does not stand out much in combat and not let him fight on many occasions in my opinion, however it worked as a very good villain. ***Will the evil triumph and get what it wants?
Mizuki: Lord Kira's servant, a witch with heterochromia (each eye has a different color), which poisons his mind and heart so that he takes dishonest practices to achieve his plans, at the end of the film this takes a somewhat peculiar form, I invite you to see it. ***What is this witch up to?

Again this is the end gentlemen, I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed writing it for all of you, it's no secret that I love this kind of movie and I really didn't expect that a film almost a decade old, I would come to like it so much. Sinopsis
Posicionándonos en la Era Feudal de Japón, nos presentan a un joven niño llamado Kai, el cual es descubierto por Samurais, siendo este un niño mestizo (no tiene linaje Japones puro), donde es criado por estos hombres y entrenado para pertenecer a su clan, sin embargo este niño a lo largo de su vida hasta su etapa adulta, sufre todas las discriminaciones y humillaciones por ser un mestizo de características especiales, ya que este tiene unas cualidades para el combate únicas y poderes místicos que son extraños para los humanos normales.
Un día muere el líder de su clan Lord Asano debido a una traición y estos son despojados de sus tierras y convertidos en Ronin, lo cual significa que son Samurais sin amo que los pueda guiar, destinados a morir sin honor estos son dispersos y humillados. Es entonces cuando uno de estos Ronin es liberado y reúne a todos sus soldados para vengar a su Señor, guiados por su capitán y con el consejo de Kai buscan derrotar ellos solos a un poderoso ejército de soldados con tal de recuperar su honor perdido. ¿Lograrán estos 47 Ronin cumplir su misión?
Opinión
Esta increíble película la encontré en Netflix cuando no tenía ya nada que ver en las tardes, el nombre llamo mi atención y bueno decidí verla, me puse manos a la obra y lo primero que vi es que uno de mis actores favoritos la protagoniza, este es el increíble “Keanu Reeves”, el cual es todo un profesional en sus papeles, ademas mientras iba viendo más me sumergía en la trama que es totalmente atrayente para los fanáticos de la cultura Japonesa, las batallas y técnicas desplegadas están muy bien, los escenarios totalmente brutales una cosa alucinante a mi parecer y personajes que si bien no todos fueron desarrollados al punto que me gustaría, los que si argumentaron perfectamente su papel están brutales, el particular de la magia estuvo fantástico, cosas sacadas del Japón Feudal como bestias míticas hechizos, maldiciones son cosas que podremos ver muy seguido en este film.
La estructura de los edificios también me pareció muy buena y apegada a lo que debería ser y se plasma en el resto de películas y series lo que se recuerda de la época y la cultura, a mi parecer para ser una película de hace aproximadamente 9 años y que muchos dijeron fue un "Fracaso", realmente me encanto. Ademas de esto, dedo detallar otras cosas como:
Espadas: Inicialmente todos los peleadores portaban katanas japonesas de acero normal, hechas a partir de la técnica de forja San Mai, la cual se basa en doblar el acero en capas con el fin de comprimirlo y darle mayor dureza, lo típico en este tipo de espadas. Sin embargo, luego podemos ver unas espadas míticas y en extremo hermosas dignas de cumplir las expectativas de ser portadas por estos Ronin.
Keanu Reeves: Uno de mis actores favoritos de toda la vida, con increíbles papeles hechos en las sagas de películas Matrix y John Wick, este hombre es todo un personaje de la historia cinematográfica, ya que para las películas de acción, sus movimientos, técnicas de pelea, actuación y gestos son totalmente puros y emocionantes, en el caso de 47 Ronin no es para menos.
Magia: Nunca pense que podría encontrar este particular dentro de esta historia, pensé que sería una película de acción con movimientos obviamente extravagantes como los que vimos cuando hice mi Review de Samurai X - El Origen, pero esto le dio un toque más atrayente a los combates, me gusto bastante el hecho de que no fuera exagerado al punto de lanzar bolas de fuego y este tipo de cosas, en tal sentido, como la crearon y desarrollaron se ve perfecta.
Escenarios
De las primeras características que lograron atraparme en la trama, tenemos unas ambientaciones de lo más pulidas, con bosques frondosos, escenas en barcos al puro estilo de piratas del caribe, fortalezas dignas de ser habitadas por Samuráis y ademas de esto, nuestros protagonistas pueden adentrarse dentro de pueblos donde la clase social queda muy clara, estando estos completamente destruidos. En mi opinión muy bien echas todas estas características, ya que en este tipo de historia no se deben descuidar estos detalles.
Filosofía
Para todo fanático de Japón, su cultura, historia y anime es excelente, ademas en la era Feudal el honor, la ley, integridad y códigos de un Samurái eran todo para los japoneses, totalmente estrictos en su estilo de vida, un particular impresionante, siendo capaces de sacrificarse por su orgullo y el de su familia para evitar deshonra, mala fama. Estos peleaban en los campos de batalla y guerras por el Shōgun, su amada patria y familia, siendo capaces de lo que sea (Siempre y cuando implique morir con honor) gracias a los fundamentos con el que los educaban, la filosofía era tanta que estos conseguían rangos, propiedades, dinero y muchas otras cosas siguiendo únicamente el camino de la espada.
Batallas
Llegamos a lo que siempre digo que es mi apartado favorito, el cual me encanta, ya que soy muy fanática de las películas de acción y ciencia ficción. Como anteriormente comente, asumo en principio que serán los típicos combates con espadas uno a uno o grupales donde seguramente el protagonista destacaría con técnicas que estuvieran por encima de los otros personajes o una motivación inamovible e inquebrantable, aspecto que en cierta parte fue así, pero me impresionó el hecho de que no siempre dependieran de sus espadas o técnicas para acabar con sus enemigos, podremos apreciar aquí técnicas de combate mano a mano, sumisión o muchas otras que le dan a las batallas un muy buen toque.
A su vez como ya expliqué, los efectos mágicos en esta saga son de velocidad y movimientos que poco se ven y no espere que fueran así, estaba ensimismada viendo los efectos de estas batallas con tal nivel de pulido y precisión, algo increíble para un film que ya tiene años de trayectoria y que por supuesto se mereció una especie de continuación para contar aún más su historia.
Personajes
Ahora hablemos de los personajes, como mencione hubo algunos que me gustaron más que otros por el hecho de que fueron desarrollados muy bien y otros que tenían más potencial para desarrollar más su personaje no lo hicieron, pero son cosas que siempre podemos ver, en mi caso tiendo a enamorarme mucho de los antagonistas, siento bastante apego por ellos, pero bueno, yendo al punto de esta sección, procedamos a elegir 3 de estos:
Kai: Un joven mestizo hijo de una campesina y un holandés, una total aberración para Japón, ya que para ojos de su gente este no es uno de ellos y pasa toda su vida sufriendo humillaciones y siendo objetivo de desprecio, con el paso de los años este desarrolla unas muy buenas habilidades para el combate y a su vez oculta sus cualidades con la magia, ya que esto es prohibido entre las personas y podrían verlo mal, cuando acontece la muerte de su Lord, este es vendido como esclavo y obligado a pelear con todo tipo de enemigos, hasta que es reclutado nuevamente para buscar su venganza y honor. ¿Podrá Kai obtener los méritos que merece?
Lord Kira: Un hombre en extremo cínico y despiadado, con hambre de grandeza y obtener todo lo que pueda alcanzar y destruir lo que no puede poseer, este junto a su bruja recurre a la magia para organizar una trampa en la cual logran asesinar a Lord Asano, con el unico objetivo de apoderarse de su hija y obtener todas sus tierras, este sujeto no destaca mucho en el combate y no se le dejo pelear en muchas ocasiones a mi parecer, sin embargo funcionó como muy buen villano. ¿Triunfará el mal y obtendrá lo que desea?
Mizuki: Sirviente de Lord Kira, una bruja con heterocromia (cada ojo tiene un color distinto), la cual envenena su mente y corazón para que este tome prácticas deshonestas para lograr sus planes, al final de la película esta toma una forma un tanto peculiar, los invito a verla. ¿Que tramara esta bruja?

Nuevamente este es el final señores, espero que les haya gustado este post tanto como yo disfrute escribirlo para todos ustedes, no es secreto que me encantan este tipo de películas y realmente no me espere que un film de casi una década, me llegara a gustar tanto. No sé porqué, pero Keannu Reeves le da un toque único a los papeles que desempeña, y en esta película es justamente lo que hace que el filme no sea uno más de guerra antigua. Particularmente la película es una joya cinematográfica por la producción tan certera que tuvo, pero las actuaciones y la historia estaban muy bien llevadas de la mano por la dirección.
