(ESP-ENG) The Young Soldier - Digital Paint
El día de ayer vi el trailer de la nueva película de Harry Melling, en donde interpreta a un joven Edgar Allan Poe, que me cautivó por completo.
Es una película que espero con ansias, y siendo sincero, reproducí varias veces el trailer. Tiene una fotografía brutal, y la dirección de tomas me encantó, por lo que no mentiré al decir que tras finalizar el trailer me sentí muy inspirado.
Decidí ilustrar una escena del avance, en donde Harry Melling (Edgar Allan Poe), se encuentra con su uniforme militar esperando órdenes. Me encantó el resultado final, y considero logré transmitir la tristeza y frialdad que quería, por lo que espero les guste tanto como a mí. ¡Recuerden beber mucha agua!
Yesterday I saw the trailer for Harry Melling's new movie, where he plays a young Edgar Allan Poe, which completely captivated me.
It's a movie I'm looking forward to, and to be honest, I played the trailer several times. It has brutal photography, and I loved the direction of the shots, so I won't lie when I say that after finishing the trailer I felt very inspired.
I decided to illustrate a scene from the trailer, where Harry Melling (Edgar Allan Poe), is in his military uniform waiting for orders. I loved the final result, and I think I managed to convey the sadness and coldness I wanted, so I hope you like it as much as I do. Remember to drink lots of water!
Step by Step:
Primero, comencé haciendo un boceto rustico de nuestro personaje.
First, I started by making a rustic sketch of our character.
Luego, realicé el line art. Nunca había dibujado uniformes militares, y mucho menos de épocas pasadas, por lo que fue sumamente interesante el hacerlo. Al finalizar, empecé a colorear a nuestro protagonista, usando una paleta de colores fría y sombría.
I had never drawn military uniforms before, let alone from past eras, so it was extremely interesting to do it. At the end, I started coloring our protagonist, using a cold and somber color palette.
Tras haber finalizado con el coloreado de nuestro protagonista, decidí duplicar al personaje para colocarlo en las esquinas: izquierda y derecha, para que pareciera que sus compañeros soldados lo acompañaban en la fila. Luego de ello, agregué un fondo abstracto que pudiera interpretarse como un bosque nevado, y agregué mi firma en la esquina superior del lienzo, dando por finalizada la ilustración.
After finishing the coloring of our protagonist, I decided to duplicate the character to place him in the corners: left and right, to make it look like his fellow soldiers were accompanying him in the line. After that, I added an abstract background that could be interpreted as a snowy forest, and added my signature in the upper corner of the canvas, finishing the illustration.
Con esto, doy finalizada mi publicación. Siempre quedo conforme con los resultados finales de mis ilustraciones, pero esta en particular podría ser fácilmente uno de mis trabajos favoritos, o al menos hasta la fecha, por lo que muero por saber que piensan de él. ¡Les mando un gran abrazo, y espero beban mucha agua!
With this, I'm wrapping up my post. I'm always happy with the final results of my illustrations, but this one in particular could easily be one of my favorite works, or at least to date, so I'm dying to know what you think of it. I send you a big hug, and I hope you drink lots of water!
