Every Billboard is a sign, but not every sign is a signboard. On holiday, you see pretty much everything you can imagine in terms of creativity - especially when it comes to attracting the attention of potential customers. In Turkey, for example, I often see pictures of Hollywood stars in the window of hairdressers' shops, or sometimes printed on the advertising sign. I have to smile a little.

Then there are signs of shops that also have interesting names, but no one knows what they are actually about. If you don't recognise it quickly enough in the shop window as you walk past, the opportunity is already lost. At least with my "walking" behaviour. Other signs are so overloaded that you ask yourself: "What doesn't this shop actually sell? - here, too, I sometimes have to smile.

Not that I am an expert on advertising signs, I just share my thoughts.

For me, this beach bar got it right - the sign has a strong contrast, you can tell what it's about when you walk by and more importantly the sign markets itself.

Most businesses have to spend a lot of money to have their name mentioned or appear somewhere. In the case of this beach bar, people (like me) have taken over the whole thing. While walking by and taking these pictures, there were 3 others besides me who took pictures there. Different from me, posing, snapping, sharing for Instagram and co. So the bar gets free promotion. Actually not bad - if you consider that it was kept very simple and the most expensive thing was probably the wood used. The white ceilings/nets, I'm not exactly sure what they are, have to be cleaned of course - but that's a drop in the ocean.

Barely 500 metres further on, you find this signboard - here, too, you know immediately what it's about. The deep black makes it look very high-class, but I wouldn't post an Instagram post of me next to or behind the sign. How would that be for you? Do you like the sign more or less than the example above?

Apart from the fact that the other shield with its white has something warm, yet somewhat cool. The black looks very noble to me - but I suspect that as soon as you touch it, the black will tempt you to let it go again very quickly. At almost 40 degrees in direct sunlight, I don't want to know how warm the poles are here. I haven't tested it either, though, I must say. By the way, the grass in the photo is really that green, the plant was very well watered, which is not the case elsewhere. You can see relatively quickly which hotel owners, bar owners etc., water the ground. I know of a regulation to reduce the construction of pools, for fear of water shortages, but this year I haven't heard from anyone that water needs to be saved here. Even though it has not rained a single day here.

Jede Werbetafel ist ein Schild, aber nicht jedes Schild ist eine Werbetafel. Im Urlaub sieht man so ziemlich alles, was man sich an Kreativität vorstellen kann - vor allem, wenn es darum geht, die Aufmerksamkeit potenzieller Kunden zu wecken. In der Türkei zum Beispiel sehe ich oft Bilder von Hollywood-Stars im Schaufenster von Friseursalons oder manchmal auch auf dem Werbeschild selbst. Das bringt mich ein wenig zum Schmunzeln. Dann gibt es Schilder von Geschäften, die auch interessante Namen haben, aber niemand weiß, worum es sich eigentlich handelt. Wenn man es im Vorbeigehen im Schaufenster nicht schnell genug erkennt, ist die Chance schon vertan. Zumindest bei meinem "Gehverhalten". Andere Schilder sind so überladen, dass man sich fragt: "Was verkauft dieser Laden eigentlich nicht? - Auch hier muss ich manchmal schmunzeln.

Ich bin kein Experte für Werbeschilder, ich teile nur meine Gedanken.

Für mich hat diese Beach Bar es richtig gemacht - das Schild hat einen starken Kontrast, man erkennt beim vorbeigehen direkt worum es dabei geht und viel wichtiger das Schild vermarktet sich selbst.

Meist müssen Unternehmen sehr viel Geld dafür ausgeben, dass deren Namen irgendwo erwähnt werden, oder erscheinen. Bei dieser Beachbar haben die Leute (wie ich) das ganze übernommen. Beim vorbeigehen und erstellen dieser Bilder, waren neben mir noch 3 andere die dort Bilder aufgenommen haben. Anders wie ich, für Instagram und Co. posieren, knipsen, teilen. Die Bar bekommt also gratis Promotion. Eigentlich nicht schlecht - wenn man überlegt, dass es sehr simpel gehalten ist und das teuerste wohl das verwendete Holz gewesen ist. Die weißen Decken/Netze, bin mir nicht genau sicher was es ist, muss man natürlich reinigen - aber das ist ein Tropfen auf den heißen Stein.

Knapp 500 Meter weiter findet man dieses Aushängeschild - auch hier weiss man direkt worum es geht. Es wirkt sehr hochwertig durch das tiefe schwarz, aber ich selber würde jetzt kein Instagrampost, auf dem ich neben oder hinter dem Schild zusehen posten. Wie wäre das bei euch? Holt euch das Schild im Vergleich zum oberen Beispiel eher, oder weniger ab?

Abgesehen davon, dass das andere Schild mit seinem weiß etwas warmes, aber doch etwas kühles hat. Wirkt das Schwarz auf mich sehr edel - allerdings vermute ich, dass das Schwarze, sobald man es berührt einen erstmal dazu verführt es ganz schnell wieder loszulassen. Bei knapp 40 Grad bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung möchte ich nicht wissen wie warm die Stangen hier sind. Habs allerdings auch nicht gestestet muss ich dazu sagen. Das Graß auf dem Foto ist übrigens wirklich so grün, die Anlage war sehr gut gegossen, was anderer Orts nicht eintrifft. Man kann hier relativ schnell erkennen, welche Hotelbesitzer, Barbesitzer etc., den Boden bewässert. Mir ist von einer Regelung bekannt, dass der Bau von Pools reduziert werden soll, aus Angst vor Wassermangel, aber dieses Jahr habe ich noch von keinem gehört, dass Wasser hier gespart werden muss. Auch wenn es noch keinen einzigen Tag hier geregnet hat.
