Daily Quests?! It Takes 2 Days!!

That Was Then This Is Now

When I first started playing Splinterlands 10 days a go, give or take. I had the account for a while but did not really start to play until recently. The game as a whole is awesome, but all the little seperate parts of the game can really trip up a new player.

Normally online game play will allow player to approve or deny battles. If you are level 1 and someone at level 50 challenges you, the choice of continuing to play or dying a horrible death was yours. Here on the blockchain in the Splinterlands the choice is not yours it is the games. Lost battles are a plenty, and therefore frustration can come along and slap you around a bit.

My solution was to concentrate just on small parts of the game like, how does one complete quests, then how does one win a battle. When players would surrender that was always a relief. My first quest took 2 days because I completed it simply by fighting enough battles to have 5 players surrender.

Now it only takes about 40 minutes or so. The reason for that is now I am focusing on card aquisition and battle strategy.

The Investment Opportunity

Splinterlands is no different than the rest of the blockchain. Investment opportunities are everywhere. I can either purchase a summoner card thinking "Mylor Crowling" The thorns is an awesome attack for about $60, and maybe some other Splinterlands assets, or convert some hive to voucher and buy about 20 Chaos packs.

Trying not to think from a player's point of view but that of a business owner's. Both have merits of being a good investment. If I ever want to get to the point where other players will want to rent my cards then owning and leveling up summoners will have to be a first step. The other side of that coin is that I could get summoners and even some awesome Gold Foil cards that would be out of my current price range.

In this way Splinterlands is no different than any other business. Difficult decisions are the order of the day. I know that there are big players that are buying 100s of Chaos Packs in hopes of selling them at a huge profit once they have sold out during the initial sale. Although If I did buy 100s of packs I can't be sure that I would not open them all up.

I am open to your suggestions. That is my ultimate goal in writing these articles, "Starting Thought Provoking Conversations" Especially about an awesome income producing game like Splinterlands.

That is awesome as without engagement the community will stagnate. Engagement is the most important factor in the survival of an online community :-)

Do my votes support HiveBuzz?

I have read /Proposals/147 and I will vote to support your project :-)

Is there an article that shows us how to vote and what tokens if any we need staking or delegated?

I am learning loads everyday, but I am still pretty ignorant about HIVE day to day business :-)

Some of your strategy depends on what you want to do, like if you intend on playing the game or not. Many people choose to use the game as an income source and invest in cards only to rent them out to steady passive income, others want to play the game. Either way there is not right or wrong its all about what you want to do. If you intend on just investing then a little research in cards to find the ones that will give you the best return on your money is probably the way to go. If you want to play the game and earn as you go then you want to find cards that will help you win battles and progress in the game. Playing can be a slower way to go but I think its more fun then just investing and as you progress in the game you can use your cards to combine and make stronger or rent out to lower level players to create income. There is a lot to take in but I think its all worth it in the end and the main thing is to have some fun with it.

Mike buddy you got that right!!

I love playing the game, and yet I can not ignore the income potential of renting cards. Either way it takes research patience and skill.

My strategy is hybrid of the two choices you laid out. I love playing the game so I will do that. I also want to rent out good cards as soon as I can. I will be trying to do both :-)
