Adventures and Socialising

It is safe to say i want to socialise as much as i can going forward, i went through a dark patch in life and kept quiet and didn't talk to anyone, i never wanna go back to that place.

Most of my friends are either too far away, too busy or just unable to meet up and that is no ones fault that is just life.
The Gif above has meaning to me and spoiler alert for Stranger things so if you don't wanna be spoiled skip this paragraph but i use this gif as when i watched the final this scene specifically felt real and related to my situation. In a way i feel like Steve Harington, i haven't moved to a big city instead, i have stayed put. I promise with friends we would meet up, catch up and keep in contact. We all know that meet ups and staying close rarely happens, it can happen and it does but it is also very easy for it not to happen.
In comes VRChat
I can easily log onto vrchat whenever i like and always have a chance at meeting someone new or bumping into an online friend no paywall just free virtual worlds with endless socialising. I have been trying to track my weekly hours on VRChat but it varies from week to week but i would say the average is 6-10 hours each session i will spend 2-5 hours on the vr depending on if there is a music event, movie or just world hopping and i will normally log on at least 2 times a week more so in the winter too due to bad weather. I like to socialise and relax in a way i feel i can escape real world problems when in vr for the couple of hours i am in here my mind relaxes from my problems in the real world.
Okay let me now link it too Hive. Meetups yes meetups after hearing some incredible stories of Hivefest, small hive meetups around the world and more recently a UK based meetup in London. I am dying to get out there and meet Hive users, Nothing is set in stone yet but i am hoping and will also try and push for a meetup somewhere in the uk likely London area or midlands giving everyone easy travel routes too and from said meetup. A date is not set and i can't quite commit yet due to job struggles and money instability but, here in the #teamuk discord here although a quiet server we do occasionally discuss topics and Meetups is always one of them and i know 4-5 brits are always up for doing a meetup so hopefully we can make that happen somewhen.
I conclude my post here today but i leave you with a question. How are you intentionally staying connected with friends while also creating opportunities to meet new people?
