Hello family,

It's so lovely to be finally back here this week. I've missed everyone here.

For this fantastic week 155 with the theme tagged DNA given by my good friend @stickupboys , one song that came to mind and was relatable is BACK TO MY ROOTS BY LUCKY DUBE. I grew up listening to this song with my father and I have very fond memories of how we would dance around jumping like a rasta man. My Father always told me right from time that good music must always pass a message to the people and this was the culture of the Reggae prophets.

DNA in biology stands for Deoxyribonucleic acid which in simple terms means the molecule that carries the genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism. This in some light refers to the roots which something develops from.
In this song BACK TO MY ROOTS, Lucky Dube talked about how reggae musicians have suddenly forgotten the foundation, concept, and original practice of Reggae songs passed down from their DNA. He talked about how disappointing it is to see the music culture bastardized and asked that we all go back to our roots where it all began.

LYRICS

I went to a naughty party the other night
Them said it' s gonna be irie there
But when we were at the party
I and I was disappointed yeah
All we could hear there was their crackadoo
All we could hear there was their
Shoobee doobee yeah
And the music they played there
Was not good for a rasta man yeah
It was not good for a Jah man
I' m going back to my roots yeah yeah
Reggae music is all that I need
All we could hear there was their crackadoo
All we could hear there was their
Shoobee doobee yeah
And the music they played there
Was not good for a rasta man
It was not good for a Jah man

Reggae is mine reggae is mine yeah yeah
Reggae is mine yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
(fade)

I' m going back to my roots yeah yeah
Reggae music is all that I need

Broooo what a pleasure to see you here again, welcome to the family, I hope all is well in your life and that in this time of absence, everything you have done has been successful. What a good vibe you bring for this presentation, that's what it's all about, to be happy making music and what better than this world stage for it, don't you think?

Reggae is an incredible musical genre, there was a time in my life that I listened to it a lot with my brother and I met many Reggae groups, of course, from this side of the world, but this one you are presenting is very cool, I liked it!

My brother, an important observation is that you must put the source of the lyrics of the song, that should not be missing when we put the lyrics, let me know when you edit it in the answer to this comment!!!!

I send you a big hug Alexander, it has been a pleasure to enjoy your talent again on the world stage of Hive Open Mic, we hope to see you soon.... You Rock!!! 🙌😀💛

My good friend, it is so nice to hear from you again. Its been a while, I hope all is well with you too.

Yes, all is well my friend. I was away for a while because of school. I've really missed my hive family here.

Reggae is indeed an incredible music genre, from the bass lines to the irie feeling, it is just a complete definition of good music and I so enjoy listening to them.

Eh, I'm really sorry for missing out that vital information. I have attached the source to the lyrics. Thanks for the corrections, my friend.

I also send a big hug too, my friend. It's always a pleasure hearing from you. Much love man🥰
