Harvesting my giant cassavas

Hello fellow gardeners, it's been a while here. Yeah i have been very busy with other businesses while i left farming or gardening pending for some times now. The farm i visited yesterday wasn't mine though but that of my elder sister. I didn't have in mind of going to farm unti she came back from work and told me that she wants to uproot some cassavas from her farm. I hurried up to follow her because i love gardening too. It wasn't easy to uproote the cassavas due to the soil is strong because it has not been rained for a period of time now. But we where f fortunate to have it fall a day before we went to the fam. Though it didn't wet the soil that much.

Most of the cassavas where breaking inside the soil while i use Cutlass to find and bring them out. It was a division of labor because as i am uprooting, my sister was busy arranging the stems for this year's farm. And her daughter who later joined us was arranging the tubbers inside the bags.

I tried uprooting one cassavas but couldn't. I left it for my cousin to try his best. All of a sudden, he pulls them out. Wow, it has lots of cassavas on it. No wonder i couldn't uproot it. He took some pictures with the cassavas hehe.

We deed something amazing while uprooting the cassavas tubbers. One was keeping the stems safe for re-planting and another was to do some planting too. Their are nice stem's that deed well. Since the farm land is our care, we replanted them in some places that have gaps.

The cassava tubbers will be processed into garri which is oui local foods. The importance of farming can't be emphasized because it helps to generate more foods in the family and country at large. Now that hardship is affecting my country, high cost of leaving. Many who didn't farm is affected badly because yhey had no where to run to for food. Buying everything in the market is not easy for us in my country this time around. That's why i appreciate the gift of nature because it supplies us with food other natural detural recourses.

Though it was late planting, but the cassavas really deed well. I really feel good about it including my sister who is the rightful owner of the farm.
