Remind Me to Stay Out of Wisconsin.....Bleh!

So,I do like my meat rare to medium rare but, not THIS rare. It's not actually human flesh but it is RAW and considered a delicacy/ annual holiday tradition. It's sometimes called "tiger meat."

The CDC urges people not to eat raw uncooked meat in this case raw ground beef on bread with sliced onions, salt and pepper.

Hundreds of people get sick each year after eating this "delicacy" due to Salmonella, E. coli, Campylobacter and Listeria bacteria. Yet, they still do it! You'd think they'd learn!

Yuck! I know Wisconsin is a beautiful state, but I'll be avoiding it during the holidays.

Ohhhh, but that does sound delicious. Though you forgot the raw egg. Raw meat (beef is fine, doesn't need to be horse), raw egg, mix it up with herbs and spices, then apply a thick layer of it on hot toast! YUM!

Though I agree: I probably would not use industrially grown, commercially sold products for this. However, if you know someone who has a small scale production, clean and safe, I'd be totally down with this tasty way of enjoying this carnivore's delight.

I hear ya. I like rare meat myself. Always that risk though. However grass fed organic handled properly, this tradition might not be so bad. Lol
