Price of chicken set to rise - Market Friday

How's everything? Welcome to my latest post on the Market Friday Community hosted by @dswigle. Shopping has become a routine for husbands or wives to shop for their daily needs. Today I got the opportunity to accompany my wife to go shopping for meat and chicken for making meatballs and Somay. This is a meat market located in North Aceh – Aceh Province.

The thing that surprised me was the soaring price of chicken due to welcoming the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday. Whereas a week ago the price of chicken pieces was only Rp. 25,000 per kilo, but today I got an out of the ordinary price of Rp. 35,000 per kilo.

Like it or not, I have to buy it. Vegetables and meat are still distributed from North Sumatra Province. Meanwhile, Aceh Province is located at the tip of the island of Sumatra, so to receive the daily needs that I mentioned earlier takes time and has to use trucks as a medium of transportation which is quite expensive.

Not to mention we are faced with middlemen who set prices beyond our reach as buyers. This market is one of the oldest meat and vegetable markets in North Aceh, although the North Aceh district government has several times advised sellers of meat, vegetables, household appliances and sellers of grocery items to move their places of sale to a designated place. .
But unfortunately they are reluctant to move because the place is far away and covered by other shop buildings and only a few sellers comply with the call.

My little suggestion is that sellers are also obliged to maintain the cleanliness of the market by not littering. That’s it!

Apa kabar anggota Komunitas Market Friday?

Thank you so much for following and reading my blog.

Hope you like it and have a nice day guys!

I noticed that almost every place that had the feast was plagued by higher prices for the food this week. I hate to say it, but, they sure know when you are forced to buy something. That is definitly taking advantage, in my opinion.

You are not alone. They do that here also. They do that everywhere. The one thing I do insist on is a clean place. I don't care what you are working with, you need to clean up after you are done. It is sanitary to do so.

Thanks so much for being part of #MarketFriday!

#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:
