Greetings hive friends, today I am participating in the contest promoted by @OCD in the @architectureDesignCommunity community, where we are going to present an architectural work of our interest to make it known in this community.

The architectural work that I am going to show you is the San Luis Rey Church, which is located in front of the Plaza Miranda in the town of Villa de Cura, Zamora municipality, Aragua state. This was built in 1776, in honor of the patron Saint Louis King of France, it was declared a national heritage in 1960.

In this church is the Holy Sepulcher, which is venerated by many people from the town and different parts of Venezuela, at the time of Holy Week it is very visited to make requests and pay some promises by the parishioners. It is an impressive large number of people who come to visit our municipality to deliver offerings to the Holy Sepulcher.

The church currently opens on weekends with biosecurity measures due to the problems sent by the Covid19 pandemic, and I could not show them photographs of the internal part because it is kept closed.

This structure stands out for being of a Gothic type architecture, which has three main entrances that give access to the church, at the top there are two bells that are played on the weekends that celebrate the masses and on the right side It has a clock that tells the time.

At the back of the church is the grotto where the image of Lourdes is located, which is a very visited place in January for the celebration of the pilgrimages of the Virgin of Lourdes. These pilgrimages began in 1904 by father José Manuel Jiménez with mother Enriqueta, after that this tradition has been maintained in the town.

The pilgrimages are a great religious devotion where people dress in white to make processions with the image of the Virgin of Lourdes, not only people from the town of Villa de Cura, but from different states of Venezuela congregate in this great religious tradition , to venerate the holy virgin.

In this religious activity the church and the schools prepare in January to receive the pilgrims who come from various states of Venezuela, in some institutions they are given accommodation for the pilgrims and the schools also collaborate with the logistics for the food of the people, this is a great organization that has allowed to maintain the tradition in the town of Villa de Cura.

Currently this tradition was suspended due to the pandemic presented at the national level, however, masses are held through the radio so that the parishioners can listen to the mass through this means of communication and in this way do not miss this religious tradition that
He has been in the town of Villa de Cura for many years.

, donde vamos a presentar una obra arquitectónica de nuestro interés para darla a conocer en esta comunidad.

La obra arquitectónica que les voy a mostrar es la Iglesia San Luis Rey, que se encuentra ubicada frente a la plaza Miranda en la localidad de Villa de Cura, municipio Zamora, estado Aragua. Esta fue construida en el año 1776, en honor al patrono San Luis Rey de Francia, fue declarada patrimonio nacional en el año 1960.

En esta iglesia se encuentra el Santo Sepulcro, que es venerado por muchas personas de la localidad y diferentes partes de Venezuela, en época de semana santa es muy visitada para hacer peticiones y pagar algunas promesas por parte de los feligreses. Es una gran cantidad impresionante de personas que vienen a visitar a nuestro municipio para entregar ofrendas al Santo Sepulcro.

La iglesia actualmente abre los fines de semanas con medidas de bioseguridad debido a los problemas presentados por la pandemia del Covid19, y no les pude mostrar fotografías de la parte interna debido a que se encontraba cerrada.

Esta estructura se destaca por ser de una arquitectura tipo gótica, la cual presenta tres entradas principales que dan acceso a la iglesia, en la parte de arriba se encuentra dos campanas que son tocadas los fines de semanas que celebran las misas y en el lado derecho tiene un reloj que marca la hora.

En la parte posterior de la iglesia se encuentra la gruta donde se encuentra la imagen de Lourdes, que es un lugar muy visitado en el mes de enero para la celebración de las peregrinaciones de la Virgen de Lourdes. Estas peregrinaciones se iniciaron en el año 1904 por el padre José Manuel Jiménez con la madre Enriqueta, después de eso esta tradición se han mantenido en la localidad.

Las peregrinaciones son una gran devoción religiosa donde las personas se visten de blanco para hacer procesiones con la imagen de la Virgen de Lourdes, no solo personas de la localidad de Villa de Cura, sino de diferentes estados de Venezuela se congregan en esta gran tradición religiosa, para venerar a la santa virgen.

En esta actividad religiosa la iglesia y las escuelas se preparan en el mes de enero para recibir a los peregrinos que vienen de varios estado de Venezuela, en algunas instituciones se le dan el alojamiento de los peregrinos y también las escuelas colaboran con la logística para la comida de las personas, esta es una gran organización que ha permitido mantener la tradición en la localidad de Villa de Cura.

Actualmente esta tradición fue suspendida debido a la pandemia presentada a nivel nacional, sin embargo se hacen misas a través de la radio para que los feligreses puedan escuchar la misa a través de este medio de comunicación y de esta forma no se pierda esta tradición religiosa que tiene muchos años en la localidad de Villa de Cura.
