Animal Cruelty Proposed Solution - WEEK 138 - Initiative

Greetings friends from Hive, today I am once again participating in the @WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community, in the writing initiative promoted by @galenkp, in which we are motivated to write about a topic that we like according to the options presented to us in this initiative. On this occasion I chose the theme of "The Solution to Animal Cruelty".

A few years ago, a neighbor took her puppy named Negrito out into the street, because she had no way to feed him, he came home and my son and I began to give him some food, little by little we gained his friendship, he traveled neighboring houses in search of food to live and return to the neighbor's house, then they left the country, without taking their small pet.

Despite the fact that Negrito was completely abandoned, we welcomed him into my house as our pet. He has earned the affection of all the neighbors, because they give him food when they visit them and they call him the pet of the block. Negrito is part of the family, and this is my companion who accompanies me in my hiking training.

Now, what happened to Negrito is what we call animal abuse or animal cruelty, because abandoning a pet on the street, after it was in your home, is quite unfortunate, thank God, at home we received it with much love. These are some of the cases of many pets that are abandoned by their owners, where a percentage of these dogs starve to death, are hit by vehicles, or get sick and die on the streets.
In my country Venezuela, in terms of legislation, it is one of the most advanced, since they created an Animal Protection Law, in order to protect all animals, thanks to this law, animal species are protected and anyone can carry out the pertinent complaints when animal abuse is evidenced. However, we can see how these small abandoned animals are found in the streets of our communities, looking for food to feed themselves.

Taking into account this situation of the inefficiency of government entities, one of the things we can do to minimize animal cruelty, from schools to create awareness campaigns for the care of pets, and respect for the lives of all animals. in the planet. In our homes, if we have a pet, educate our children in the treatment of animals and the responsibility in the care and attention of our pets so that when they are adults they respect animals.

To give an animal awareness campaign greater reach, extend it to all social networks, so that people are aware of the Animal Protection Law, so that they become aware of the care and treatment of animals, in order to avoid the animal cruelty.

Another of the contributions to avoid animal cruelty is to report when we observe cruel treatment of an animal in our environment to the competent body, so that these animals are protected in this way. On the other hand, request support from private companies to carry out a day of sterilization and purchase of food for the dogs together with veterinarians, thus minimizing abandoned dogs on the streets.
