First night in Thailand and I already found the dicks
Hah, perfect clickbait. Ain't even a bait though, because I really did find dicks - wooden dicks.
Having gotten to Bangkok, I checked in to the hostel after which I decided to go find some food. The hostel receptionist guided me to somewhere where I ended up finding this nightmarket, with stripper places side by side. Of course everybody wanted me to go look at them, and everyone else also wanted me to look at their stuff, too - whatever it was - which is slightly overwhelming and makes it very hard to actually find what I want when I'm just ignoring all the trihards by not even glancing at them. No such thing as personal space on the streets.
I did end up finding a quiet place though, even if not the most cheap in Thai standards, food was damn good though. Of course, because this is Thailand, there's some westerner eating some dinner with two ladyboys. Good dose of Thailand right off the bat.
Despite everything being a bit bizarre - people selling birds on the streets and stuff - I'm not surprisingly that weirded out by it. It's actually kinda amazing. Though I think everything would be after being stuck in a routine for months.

I love personal space, I would've probably gotten a bit paranoid. Sigh. I hope to visit Bangkok one day though :)
It is something one just has to get used to I suppose.
