Un saludo cariñoso a todos los seres humanos amantes de los animales; hoy he iniciado una semana feliz porque mi gata y yo ya estamos restablecidas de salud. La verdad es que estuve muy enferma con la gripe y me dio mucha fiebre y por otra parte mi gata Mara estaba convaleciente de su esterilización.

Hoy les vengo a contar detalladamente de cómo ha sido todo este proceso, de que me pareció y también sobre algunos consejos que ahora les puedo dar de acuerdo a mi experiencia.

Desde que Mara cumplió sus 6 meses inicié con la búsqueda de una institución o médico adecuado a mis posibilidades para esterilizarla. En los primeros días del mes de abril habíamos conseguido una cita pero la perdimos por una terrible confusión, creíamos que Mara estaba preñada ya que se me había escapado por varias horas estando en pleno celo. Yo pensé que estaba embarazada porque cada día estaba más grande, dormía mucho, su barriga se abultaba cada día más. Por todas estas cosas decidí simplemente esperar que nacieran sus gatos y luego volver a retomar la fecha, pero nuestra sorpresa fue que nunca pario, esperé dos meses y medio y nada, así que de inmediato volví acudir a la RAC y de inmediato me indicaron que tenían un operativo en el Hatillo, muy cerca de la casa, así que me ese sábado me levanté temprano y me fui junto a mi esposo.

Esta experiencia no es placentera, como madre humana de Mara me da cosa que no pueda tener gatitos, pero más triste seria que estuviera escapándose a cada rato y teniendo gatos de uno y de otro. Hay gatos que si soportan ese tipo de cosas pero hay otras que se enferman y debilitan su salud, se puede decir que siente y padece parecido a una mujer.

Los últimos celos que sufrió Mara eran impresionantes, yo nunca vi sufrir así a una gata. Ellas se vuelven sumisas, levantan su cola y lloran mucho por su necesidad de querer tener pareja. (Así lo entiendo yo).

Conseguir la cita con la gente del RAC fue fácil, solo escribí por el número de whatsapp y ellos me respondieron casi de inmediato. Para que haya un operativo debe haber una cierta cantidad de caninos o mininos para que el personal se pueda trasladar hasta la localidad.

En mi caso me tocaba en el Hatillo, a una hora de Guatire donde yo habito. La respuesta me la enviaron al correo y allí te dicen todos los pasos que debes seguir. Hay que llenar una platilla, especificar si sospechan que la gata está embarazada, llevar un costal de naranjas porque no te admiten ni cajas, ni kennel, bolsos de otra especie. El animal debe tener una dieta de doce horas sin comer ni beber agua, debes estar a la hora y comprometerte con el pago de 20$.

Ese sábado el clima no fue favorable, aun así nos levantamos bien temprano y nos fuimos. Al llegar todos estaban haciendo su fila para entregar una planilla con los datos del animal y así ellos nos asignaran el número. Mi gata fue la numero 13.

A mí la verdad me gustó mucho como trabajaron, primero atienden los gatos, luego a los perras y por últimos a los perros machos. Este orden tiene mucho que ver con el proceso de anestesia.

Luego que terminan con el proceso de identificación nos dan una charla para explicarnos como será el operativo, de cómo debe ser el cuidado post operatorio, nos indican del tratamiento médico y los cuidados que debemos tener en casa para que no se les revienten los puntos. La alimentación es otra parte importante, nos mandaron a darle caldito de pollo y pechuga.

Mientras nos manteníamos en la dulce espera, llenos de nervios y orando para que todo saliera bien, me puse a conversar con las demás personas. Si hay algo de lo que me pude dar cuenta es del gran corazón que tienen aún las personas.

Este chico, que ven en la imagen no hacía sino sacarle garrapatas a sus perritos, tenían muchas y los llevaba a desparasitar.

Estos dos perros eran unos consentidos, se ve que sus amos los cuidan mucho.

El de la primera imagen que les muestro me quedé impactada por su ojo con pecas, es decir, que su ojo no alcanzo a tomar todo su color marrón y quedó a medias, pero su protectora lo tenía entre sus brazos protegiéndolo de la lluvia que no dejo de caer durante toda la mañana.

También hay muchos perritos de la calle, la gente los lleva para que los esterilicen. Me gustó mucho ver como dos señoras contaban de como habían rescatado a un perrito que había quedado muy herido después de una pelea callejera y ellas lo llevaron a la RAC y entre todos habían logrado salvarle la vida. Este día lo llevaron a retirarle los puntos que le habían tomado y aprovecharon de caparlo también,

Todo gracias a Dios fluyo rápido, Mara era una de las ultimas y por eso salimos casi a medio día, nos fuimos de allí agradecidos, todos fueron muy amables.

También nos dieron el antibiótico y nos explican paso a paso de como dárselo.

Hay que esperar 15 días para retirar los puntos, sino te sientes cómoda haciéndolo tu misma los puedes llevar a la clínica en la pastora donde ellos retiran los puntos sin ningún problema.

Hay una malla que ayuda para proteger que el animal no se rasque y vaya a dañar lo puntos, se puede hacer con una telas de franela. Yo le hice uno con tela de mono. En internet hay muchos tutoriales de cómo se puede realizar.

Gracias a Dios han pasado 10 días y Mara ha evolucionado perfectamente, solo puedo estar feliz, sé que Mara ya no sufrirá con el celo y tampoco dejara gatitos por allí tirados. Tener una mascota es una gran responsabilidad, amerita tiempo, esfuerzo y dinero, pero lo que recibes a cambio de ellos es la mejor recompensa que puedas tener.

That day they took him to remove the stitches that had been taken and took the opportunity to cap him as well.

All thanks to God everything flowed quickly, Mara was one of the last ones and that is why we left almost at noon, we left there grateful, everyone was very kind.
