Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share another day in my life with you. This time, it’s a day of medical checkups. For several years now, we’ve viewed the month of September not only as a time to celebrate family birthdays but also as an opportunity to undergo various medical checkups as part of our annual health monitoring. Since we all live far apart, we rarely get to see each other, and I think it’s important to set aside at least some time each year to take stock of our health—for example, by seeing an internist.

Mom and I went to see Dr. Armando Márquez today, a gastroenterologist, because we had some concerns about our health. I don’t want to go into too much detail about what was discussed there, but I must say that the doctor is very articulate, and so, between taking my medical history and our conversation, the time just flew by. I’m glad to know that my mom is doing quite well, and when I hear that, I feel a great sense of peace. We just need to do a follow-up test, but most likely everything will be fine. As for me, I’m doing well too, but there were a few things going on with me, and—to be honest—with all these doctor’s visits, it hadn’t occurred to me to get checked out as well. I think I needed it, but there are still a few more tests to go through before a diagnosis can be made.

Since we left there pretty late, we got caught in the rain and ended up on the street, so we went to eat roast chicken at a place that used to be called “La Macarena.” I’d never eaten there before, but I thought it was pretty good: reasonable prices, good food, and good service. We weren’t able to eat all that you see there. We’d ordered that much to take home for our stepdad (based on three people), so if we managed to eat a quarter of it, that was plenty (hahaha). When we left the restaurant, we headed home. Oh, and by the way, the electricity situation in Valencia is unbearable—it’s really crazy to go six hours a day without power. It was a productive day. Without further ado, thank you so much for stopping by.
