Hello everyone! Today I bring this drawing of the great actress Jodie Foster, specifically, where she plays the aspiring FBI special agent, Clarice Starling. For me, one of the best movies of all time and spectacular performances. Its impact was such that the character of Jodie Foster, served as inspiration for the creation of Dana Scully, in the television series 'The Secret X-Files' where under the recreation and style similar to the film, two FBI special agents are responsible for solving supernatural problems. Highly recommended if you have not seen it.
For me, Clarice Starling is a sober, modest character, full of an insightful and angelic spirit, so I wanted to portray her subtlety and ethereal beauty. The drawing was made with a blue pencil. I usually draw with black, but I really looked for it everywhere and I didn't find it. I don't like to draw with graphite because I consider that you have to be very neat because it tends to leave many shavings that dirty the paper. You have to be careful. Another point is that I'm not used to draw, especially portraits, I think I still need to perfect many things, however I have dared to do it. Below I tell you a little about how the process went.

Para mi, una de las mejores películas de todos los tiempos y unas actuaciones espectaculares. Su impacto fue tal que el personaje de Jodie Foster, sirvió de inspiración para la creación de Dana Scully, en la serie de televisión 'Los Expedientes Secretos X' donde bajo la recreación y estilo parecido a la película, dos agentes especiales del FBI se encargan de resolver problemas sobrenaturales. Súper recomendada si no la han visto.
Para mi Clarice Starling, es un personaje sobrio, modesto y lleno de un espíritu perspicaz y angelical, por ello quise retratar la sutileza y belleza etérea de ella. El dibujo lo he realizado con un lápiz de color azul. Acostumbro a dibujar con el negro pero, realmente lo busque por todos lados y no lo encontré. No me gusta dibujar con grafito porque considero que hay que ser muy prolijo pues tiende a dejar muchas virutas que ensucian el papel. Hay que ser cuidadoso. Otro punto es que no acostumbro a dibujar, menos retratos, creo que aún me falta perfeccionar muchas cosas, sin embargo me he atrevido a hacerlo. Abajo les cuento un poco sobre cómo fue el proceso.
Process/Proceso
The first step I have taken is to choose a photograph of Jodie, where the perspective is frontal. Then I added some lines to fit the face.
El primer paso que he cometido es el de elegir una fotografía de Jodie, donde la perspectiva sea frontal. Luego he ido agregando algunas líneas para encajar el rostro.
The second step has been to add the elements of the face; eyes, mouth, eyebrows, etc. Do not overdo it at this point with the details as we will leave that for the end. It is not a priority at this time. Don't worry, it will get better.

Then I add details of the face that are deeper and more characteristic. Like the abundant and tousled hair as it was used at that time.
Luego voy añadiendo detalles del rostro más profundos y característicos. Como el cabello abundante y despeinado como en aquel tiempo se utilizaba.
Finally I added more specific shadows and highlights to give it more volume. And I liked how it turned out. She had this expression on her face as if she was always analyzing everything and a bit of uncertainty accompanied her. Below are the results.
Finalmente he añadido sombras y luces más específicas para que tenga más volumen. Y me ha gustado como ha quedado. Ella tenía esa expresión en su cara como si estuviera analizando siempre todo y un poco de incertidumbre la acompañara. Acá abajo dejo los resultados.

Sin embargo espero que les haya gustado tanto como yo, soy sincera, no trabajo realmente con los retratos pero creo que es un buen avance.
