¡El canto continúa!: celebración y más ensayos [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share a new chapter in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you a little about the last rehearsal we had. There’s really a lot I want to share about what’s happened over the past few months, but it’s also been a bit exhausting—with so much going on, the day just flies by. And that means I can’t neglect the work I’ve been doing on Hive—by the way, I’ve now been on the platform for 5 years. That’s no small feat, and I’m happy about it, but I’ll dedicate a post to that in the future. Back to my original point.
After the event in Caracas, we had a brief break (really very brief, hahaha), since we’d already taken on several commitments for the end of June and practically the entire month of July. I don’t want to give too much away, but one thing is for sure: this Friday, the 25th, Canticum Merú will be performing at the event celebrating Club Italo’s anniversary in Ciudad Guayana. It’s a cheerful repertoire, but I won’t say any more. Another reason to celebrate is that on July 3, we’ll have a choral gathering at UCAB. Again, I can’t reveal too much, but one thing is certain: we’re working on indigenous songs and adaptations of Spanish songs into indigenous languages. We had the help of Elena, who is a native speaker and knows the language.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar un poco sobre el último ensayo que tuvimos. Realmente hay mucha cosas que quiero contar y que han pasado en el transcurso de los últimos meses, pero también ha sido un poco cansado pues de tantas cosas, el día se me hace corto. Y eso conlleva a no perder el trabajo que he vendió haciendo en Hive, que por cierto, ya he cumplido 5 años aquí en la plataforma. No es una cosa menos y me siento feliz de ese hecho, pero dedicaré una publicación sobre ello en el futuro. Continuo con la primera idea.
Luego del evento en Caracas, tuvimos un breve descanso (realmente muy breve jajaja) pues ya habíamos adquirido varios compromisos para finales del mes de Junio y para prácticamente todo el mes de Julio. No deseo adelantarme del todo, pero es algo seguro que este viernes 25, Canticum Merú estará presente en el evento dedicado a la celebración aniversario del Club Italo de Ciudad Guayana. Es un repertorio alegre, pero no diré más. Otro motivo de alegría es que este 3 de Julio tendremos un encuentro coral en la UCAB. Nuevamente no puede revelar demasiado, pero algo que sí es cierto es que estamos trabajando con canciones indígenas y adaptaciones de canciones en español a idiomas indígenas. Así tuvimos la ayuda de Elena, quién es nativa y conoce el idioma.
It’s been a really cool experience because she’s not only taught us her language but also her dances. She put together a choreography for us that we’ll use for the performance that day. It’s also beautiful, because it’s not just a dance—it’s a dance that’s part of who they are. I have to say that this language isn’t easy at all; it requires a lot of attention, patience, and repetition to get a handle on the words. We have to do it right, because doing it with respect is also important. Above all, it has to sound good since we’re singing. She let us know when what we sang was understandable and when it wasn’t. We still have a lot to learn. On another note, we also had a little get-together to celebrate all the achievements we’ve made. I think it’s important to take these breaks, play, and chat a bit. Sometimes we’re so busy with so many things that we don’t have time to catch up with each other. Finally, thank you very much for stopping by and reading my post.
Ha sido una experiencia muy chévere porque ella no solo nos ha enseñado su idioma sino también sus bailes. Nos hizo una coreografía que servirá para la presentación de ese día. Es también una belleza, porque no solo es un bile sino una danza que forma parte de ellos Debo decir que este idioma no es nada fácil, requiere de mucha atención, paciencia y repetición para poder acercarse a las palabras. Hay que hacerlo bien, pues honrar también es importante. Sobre todo, debe sonar bien pues estamos cantando. Ella nos hacía saber cuando no se entendía lo que cantamos o no. Aún nos queda mucho por aprender. Por otro lado también tuvimos un pequeño compartir para celebrar todos esos logros obtenidos. Creo que es importante vivir estos descansos, jugar y hablar un poco. A veces estamos en tantas cosas que no nos da tiempo de ponernos al tanto. Finalmente, muchas gracias por pasar por aquí y leer mí publicación.
