Eating out in Puerto Ordaz: we tried a new food place [ENG/ESP]

Hello to everyone in the Family & Friends community! Today I share with you the family day that my partner and I had because being in the city of Puerto Ordaz we had never been to a place where they served roasted chicken on firewood and we love that food. So we ventured to try this small restaurant that promised a lot. Join me.

Puerto Ordaz is a pretty big city where you can find many alternatives for eating out. The thing is that we have not always found good quality in them. I don't know why but it has been hard for us to find good options where they serve just what you want and there is nothing more terrible than buying a plate of food and not feeling satisfied with it. At least for me, that's how it is. So when we saw this place we didn't hesitate to go and try it.

El día de hoy comparto con ustedes el día familiar que tuvimos mí pareja y yo pues estando en la Ciudad de Puerto Ordaz nunca habíamos ido a un local de comida donde sirvieran pollo asado a la leña y a nosotros nos encanta esa comida. Así que nos aventuramos a probar en este pequeño local de comida que prometía bastante. Acompáñame.

Puerto Ordaz es una ciudad bastante grande y dónde puedes encontrar muchas alternativas para comer fuera de casa. La cuestión está en que no siempre hemos encontrado buena calidad en ellos. No sé porqué pero nos ha costado encontrar buenas opciones dónde se sirva justo lo que uno desea y no hay nada más terrible que comprar un plato de comida y no sentirse satisfecho con ella. Por lo menos para mí, es así. Por lo que cuando vimos este local no dudamos en acercarnos y probar.

The place has no name or at least they don't point it out anywhere. It is located on the famous Bariloche Avenue, a name given to it because of the iconic ice cream stand located on that avenue. In this avenue there is a kind of "hunger street", as it is colloquially called in Venezuela when in an area there are many food stores. Here you can also find the famous Shawarmas of the city of Puerto Ordaz.

As soon as you arrive the first thing that greets you is the smell of the chickens being roasted over a wood fire. We ordered a whole chicken that was accompanied with salad, buns (corn flour dumplings), drink and its corresponding consommé (vegetable broth with beef). We were shown into the dining room and to our surprise it was a very nice wooden hut. I didn't manage to take enough pictures but it was quite cozy. There we sat down to wait for our order.

El local no tiene nombre o por lo menos no lo señalan en ningún lugar. Está ubicado en la famosa avenida Bariloche, nombre que se le dió por el icónico puesto de helados que se encuentra en esa avenida. En esta avenida hay una especie de "calle del hambre", cómo se le dice coloquialmente en Venezuela cuando en una zona hay muchos los locales de comida. Dónde también se encuentran los famosos Shawarmas de ciudad de Puerto Ordaz.

En cuanto llegas lo primero que te recibe es el olor de los pollos siendo asados a la leña. Nosotros pedimos un pollo entero que era acompañado con ensalada, bollos (bolitas de harina de maíz), bebida y su correspondiente consomé (caldo de vegetales con carne de res). Nos hicieron pasar al comedor y para nuestra sorpresa era una especie de cabaña de madera muy bonito. No logré tomar suficientes fotografías pero era bastante acogedor. Allí nos sentamos a esperar nuestro pedido.

I'm not going to lie to you, we had to wait quite a long time because for our luck, at that moment they had placed a huge order for a party and they had ordered about 10 or 20 chickens. So we were there for about two hours and in the pictures you see I'm laughing because we were very hungry and I couldn't take it anymore. But as soon as it arrived, the wait was worth it because the chicken was quite big, it had a smoky flavor characteristic of having been cooked over firewood and it was just right. The price for this combo was about 13$ plus drinks plus about 2$ so it was quite economical.

Finally my friends, there is nothing like going out to eat with your family and this time I can say that the food was very good. I also found that they do delivery in the nearby areas so if you are in Puerto Ordaz, you can come and eat here because the prices and taste are affordable. No les voy a mentir, tuvimos que esperar bastante tiempo pues para nuestra suerte, en ese momento habían realizado un pedido enorme para una fiesta y habían pedido alrededor de 10 o 20 pollos. Por lo cuál estuvimos unas dos horas y en la fotografías que ven estoy riéndome porque teníamos mucha hambre y yo ya no aguantaba más. Pero en cuanto llegó, la espera valió la pena pues el pollo era bastante grande, tenía un sabor ahumado característico de haberlo cocinado a la leña y estaba en su punto. El precio por este combo fue de unos 13$ más las bebidas aparte unos 2$ así que fue bastante económico.

Finalmente amigos míos, no hay nada cómo salir a comer con tu familia y esta vez puedo decir que la comida estaba muy buena. También encontré que hacen delivery en las zonas cercanas así que sí están en Puerto Ordaz, pueden acercarse a comer aquí pues los precios y el sabor están accesibles.
