Don't take it personally LOH Contest #117 [ENG/ESP]
Hello to everyone in the Ladies of Hive community! Today I am joining the contest for week number 117. As always I hope you are having a great week and to start with this article I will be answering the first scenario which is as follows:
Scenario 1: A friend of reputation 52 says she no longer wants to be active on Hive, claiming that she can't devote time to it, that the currency is too low valued and that only a few read her posts. What could you do to encourage her and help her to keep trying? Writing tips? Time management? Other?
¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Ladies of Hive! El día de hoy me uno al concurso de la semana número 117. Como siempre deseo que estén teniendo una gran semana y para empezar con este artículo estaré respondiendo a la primera situación que nos plantea lo siguiente:
Escenario 1: Una amiga de reputación 52 dice que ya no quiere ser activa en Hive, alegando que no puede dedicarle tiempo, que la moneda está muy poco valorada y que sólo unos pocos leen sus mensajes. ¿Qué podrías hacer para animarla y ayudarla a seguir intentándolo? ¿Consejos de escritura? ¿Gestión del tiempo? ¿Otros?
I should say first of all that, joining Hive, how you manage your account, time and space, is a purely personal matter. When I started Hive (almost two years ago now) it was a decision I made on an individual basis. Once I understood what it was about, how to publish and which communities existed, the rest was simply a matter of will, learning and experimenting. My mission: to have a secure income and eventually, enjoy my work.
From the first publication I had a lot of support and that surprised me. The first months were super important to make myself known in various communities, gain reputation, make friends and understand the system. Little by little I realized that sometimes I didn't get the rewards I thought I deserved but if there is something that helped me to keep going was to always keep in mind that I had to publish and each publication had to be full of all my effort, love and quality. So it didn't matter if sometimes I didn't get voted because I already felt satisfied with the work I had done.
Debo decir antes de todo que, unirte a Hive, la forma en la que manejas tu cuenta, tiempo y espacio, es una cuestión netamente personal. Cuando comencé en Hive (hace ya casi dos años) fue una decisión que tome de forma individual. Al entender de qué se trataba, cómo publicar y cuáles comunidades existían, lo demás fue simplemente cuestión de voluntad, aprender y experimentar. Mi misión: tener una entrada de dinero segura y eventualmente, disfrutar de mi trabajo.
Desde la primera publicación tuve mucho apoyo y eso me sorprendió. Los primeros meses fueron súper importantes para darme a conocer en varias comunidades, ganar reputación, hacer amistades y entender el sistema. Poco a poco me di cuenta que a veces no tenía las recompensas que creía merecer pero si hay algo que me ayudó a seguir fue siempre tener en mente que debía publicar y cada publicación debía estar llena de todo mi esfuerzo, amor y calidad. Por lo que no importaba si a veces no me votaban porque ya me sentía satisfecha con el trabajo que había hecho.
Being in Hive is a long term project and the achievements are only seen with time and when you start to understand that you can't always get big votes and that's ok. I know you can't live on love but it's a great incentive when you work on something you enjoy. Honestly, there are few jobs and trades that pay as well as Hive. But I come back to what I said above, it is a personal matter.
It is important to know what you want from this platform, money?, recognition?, popularity? to see the reality properly, analyze and realize that what we want is really feasible. Ambition is good but it is also not good to have exaggerated expectations because frustration can come very quickly. Be simple, have a programmed mind to do what has to be done and let things flow. That's my advice.
Estar en Hive es un proyecto a largo plazo y los logros solo se ven con el tiempo y cuando comienzas a entender que no siempre se pueden obtener votos grandes y eso está bien. No lo tomes personal. Sé que de amor no se vive pero es un gran incentivo cuando se trabaja en algo que uno disfruta. Sinceramente, pocos trabajos y oficios hay donde se remunere de tal forma cómo en Hive. Pero vuelvo a lo mismo de arriba, es una cuestión personal.
Es importante saber qué es lo que se quiere de esta plataforma, ¿dinero?, ¿reconocimiento?, ¿popularidad? ver con propiedad la realidad, analizar y caer en cuenta que lo que deseamos es realmente factible. Estar ubicados es vital. La ambición es buena pero tampoco es bueno tener expectativas exageradas pues la frustración puede llegar muy rápido. Ser sencillos, tener una mente programada para hacer lo que se tiene que hacer y dejar que las cosas fluyan. Es mi consejo.
I can say that also something that exhausts most people and makes them throw in the towel is not having ideas to publish (What can I publish today?). That happens to all of us but something that has helped me is to schedule at least about three posts a week. I'm a singer, so I take two or three days a month to record about ten songs and post them alternating between written articles and videos. So every other day. That way I have at least some space to think about the next written article. Also, it's important to explore in the communities, not to stay only in what you are comfortable with; cooking, crafts, art, sports, health, etc.
The way you also narrate gets other users interested. I always try to make my writings very personal (telling an anecdote, for example) and from that first idea, the rest of the words flow. It's nice to read when users are sincere and write from the heart, without dwelling too much on it. Of course, it is also an act of respect to try to write as clearly and simply as possible so that everyone understands what we want to communicate. 500 words are easy to achieve and are enough to get an idea across.
Finally friends, I hope this article is helpful and a reminder that all of us here are doing the best we can so it is only important to find a way that is viable for you to manage your Hive account. It's your time, no pressure, the important thing is to go at your own pace. Your job is up to you but that doesn't have to be a bad thing, take advantage of it. Puedo decir que también algo que agota a la mayoría y hace que dejen la toalla es no tener ideas para publicar (¿Qué puedo publicar hoy?). Eso nos pasa a todos pero algo que me ha ayudado es programar al menos unas tres publicaciones por semana. Me dedico a cantar, así que al mes tomo dos o tres días para grabar unas diez canciones y publicarlas de forma alternada entre artículos escritos y videos. Es decir un día sí un día no. De esa forma tengo al menos un espacio para pensar en el siguiente artículo escrito. Además, es importante explorar en las comunidades, no quedarse solo en lo que uno se siente cómodo; cocina, manualidades, arte, deportes, salud, etc.
La forma en la que también se narra hace que otros usuarios se interesen. Siempre trato de hacer mis escritos de forma muy personal (contando una anécdota, por ejemplo) y apartir de esa primera idea, el resto de palabra fluyen. Es agradable leer cuando los usuarios son sinceros y escriben desde el corazón, sin detenerse demasiado en ello. Eso sí, también es un acto de respeto tratar de escribir de la forma más clara y sencilla posible para que todos entiendan lo que queremos comunicar. 500 palabras son fáciles de lograr y son suficientes para dar a entender una idea.
Finalmente amigos, espero que este artículo les sirva de ayuda y como un recordatorio de que todos los que estamos aquí hacemos lo mejor que podemos así que solo es importante encontrar la forma en que sea viable para ti, manejar tu cuenta en Hive. Es tu tiempo, sin presiones, lo importante es que vayas a tu ritmo. Tú trabajo depende de ti pero eso no tiene porqué ser algo malo, aprovéchalo. I tell people that to enjoy Hive better, they need to let go of the entitlement mentality and understand that people are valuable over money. I got to understand this during my first year on Hive. People are the main asset of Hive not the money.
