1️⃣ There's a long-standing belief that genuine female friendships are rare to find or difficult to sustain. Has this influenced the way you approach or interact with other women in your space? Are there aspects of female friendships that you have come to appreciate the most, and how have you also navigated the challenges that comes with building something intentional with females?
1️⃣Existe una antigua creencia de que las amistades femeninas genuinas son raras de encontrar o difíciles de mantener. ¿Ha influido esto en la forma en que te acercas o interactúas con otras mujeres en tu espacio? ¿Hay aspectos de las amistades femeninas que has llegado a apreciar más? ¿Y cómo has superado también los desafíos que conlleva construir algo intencional con mujeres?
Honestly, I’ve never had issues with my female friendships. I know women sometimes have a reputation for being difficult—or even ruthless—with one another, but I think that happens when you don’t choose your friends wisely. Personally, I like surrounding myself with people who are on the same wavelength—people with whom I share common interests. We’ve had a great time together; we’ve gone to group activities, taken baking and pastry classes, and things like that. Of course, there are some friends with whom I share a deeper bond or a higher level of trust—like my best friend, Yris. We haven’t seen each other in a while, but we’ve never lost touch, and we’ve always been there to support one another.
La verdad es que yo nunca he tenido problemas con mis amistades femeninas, yo sé que las mujeres a veces tenemos fama de ser conflictivas y a veces hasta de despiadadas entre nosotras mismas, pero la verdad es que pienso que eso sucede cuando no sabes elegir bien a tus amistades, en mi caso me gusta rodearme de personas que estén en mi misma sintonía, personas con las que comparto afinidades y la verdad es que la hemos pasado muy bien juntas, hemos ido a actividades grupales, hemos hecho cursos de repostería y panadería y cosas así, y claro, por supuesto que hay amistades con las que he tenido mayor afinidad o mayor nivel de confianza, en este caso mi amiga Yris que es mi mejor amiga, tenemos tiempo sin vernos pero jamás hemos perdido contacto, ambas hemos sido un punto de apoyo para la otra.
2️⃣ Tell us about a memorable friendship experience that made you realize you had found someone who would always have your back. What did they do that left such a lasting impression on you, and how has that friendship changed your view about life?
2️⃣Cuéntanos sobre una experiencia de amistad memorable que te hizo darte cuenta de que habías encontrado a alguien que siempre te respaldaría. ¿Qué hicieron que te dejó una impresión tan duradera y cómo esa amistad cambió tu visión de la vida?
How could I ever forget my friend Marisol? She was my friend from school—my very best friend and partner in adventure whenever we skipped class 😄, but also my study buddy. She was at my wedding and served as my bridesmaid; I’ll never forget how she told my husband he needed to take good care of me—she said such lovely things. I miss her terribly because we truly were great friends, but sadly, over time, we lost touch and drifted apart.
¿Cómo olvidar a mi amiga Marisol? Mi amiga del colegio, ella era mi gran mejor amiga, compañera de aventuras cuando nos escapábamos del colegio 😄 pero también mi compañera de estudios, ella estuvo en mi boda, fue mi dama de honor, y nunca olvidaré que ella le dijo a mi esposo que él debía cuidarme mucho, le dijo muy lindas palabras, la extraño muchísimo porque de verdad fuimos grandes amigas pero lamentablemente con el tiempo fuimos perdiendo contacto y nos fuimos alejando una de la otra.
