Ladies of Hive, here I am again to share one of those anecdotes from my teenage years—one that makes me laugh a lot now, even though it made me blush at the time 😄.
Ladies of hive, nuevamente me encuentro por aquí para hablarles de una de esas anécdotas que tengo de mi adolescencia, una que me hace reír mucho y que sin embargo en su momento me hizo ruborizar 😄.
1️⃣ What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to you, something you’ve even laughed about yourself? Tell us about your experience.
¿Qué es lo más vergonzoso que te ha pasado alguna vez, algo de lo que incluso te has reído? Cuéntanos tu experiencia.
I was in my first year of secondary school. I remember the school was brand new—they were barely finishing construction—but classes started there anyway; they brought all the students in even though there was dirt, rubble, and construction material lying around. I remember a very thin boy whom I used to tease (I admit it, that wasn't right); I constantly picked on him because of his thinness and because his uniform was way too big for him. I even called him "The Flying Man" (because of the way his uniform hung off him). One time, I started drawing him on the blackboard and wrote "The Flying Man" next to the sketch. I was already a popular girl, but I did it just to get more attention—and it worked; everyone started laughing at the poor boy. He got up from his seat and walked toward me with his hand raised, ready to hit me. I moved quickly to dodge him, but I tripped over some blocks left in the classroom, fell backward, and scraped my legs a bit. Everyone started laughing at *me* then, but even though I was embarrassed at the time, looking back on it now as an adult, I have to admit it was well-deserved karma 🤣.
Yo estaba en primer año de secundaria, recuerdo que mi colegio era muy nuevo, apenas estaban terminando de construirlo, pero aún así las clases iniciaron allí, metieron a todos los alumnos a pesar de que había tierra, escombros y algunos materiales de construcción por allí. Recuerdo que había un chico muy delgado al que yo molestaba (lo admito, eso no estaba bien) pero yo lo molestaba constantemente por su delgadez y porque el uniforme le quedaba muy grande, además lo llamaba "El Hombre Volador" (por la manera en que su uniforme colgaba) entonces en una ocasión yo empecé a dibujarlo en la pizarra y escrbí a un lado "El Hombre Volador". Yo ya era una chica popular pero lo hacía solo para obtener más atención y en efecto así fue, todos empezaron a reirse del pobre chico, así que este se levantó del asiento y caminó hacia mi con la mano alzada dispuesto a golpearme, yo me moví bruscamente para esquivarlo y entonces tropecé con algunos bloques que estaban ahí en el salón de clases, cayendo hacia atrás, y raspandome un poco las piernas, todos empezaron a reirse de mi en ese momento, pero a pesar de que me dio verguenza, hoy de adulta, reflexionando como tal, no dejo de reconocer que tuve un karma muy merecido 🤣.

No, I’m not really a fashion enthusiast; I’ve always liked dressing well, but I’ve never followed trends. Well—wait! To be completely honest, I have to admit that many years ago—back in my teens—I *did* follow a trend. The movie *Grease* was huge at the time; even though it was the 70s, the film’s anachronistic style sparked a trend for full, 50s-style skirts, and since I loved them, I decided to wear them. But I did it because I genuinely liked them, not because I felt an overwhelming need to do it just because everyone else was.
No, en realidad yo no soy entusiasta de la moda, siempre me ha gustado vestir bien pero nunca he seguido tendencias, bueno ¡Esperen! Para ser totalmente honesta tengo que decirles que hace muchos años, en mi adolescencia también, sí que seguí una tendencia. Estaba muy de moda la película Grease, y a pesar de que eran los años 70, debido a la temática anacrónica de la película, se pudieron de moda las faldas amplias al estilo de los años 50, y como me encantaba decidí usarlas. pero lo hice porque realmente me gustaba, no porque tuviera una necesidad imperiosa de hacelo solo porque otros lo hacían.
