Pillows In The Sky

Winter time in Rijeka, Croatia. Snowing in the hills & mountains around Kvarner bay. No snow in the coastline. On the opposite, it's very warm by the sea. The temperature difference between the seaside & the highlands makes also the difference between the air pressure & creates air current - wind. Bura again blowing from the snowy cold highlands towards the warm Sunny seaside bringing down the fresh mountain air & the special picturesque forms of everchanging clouds in the sky. They sea becomes unusually dark & the waves create optical illusions with distant objects and shores touching the sea surface.

The first land in the distance in the middle & on the right is island Krk. On the left there's a bridge connecting the island with the land. The highlands in the far distance are Gorski kotar on the left & Velebit on the right.

Keep on looking into the sky & keep your heads up high!!!

The upper shot I made with Nikon Z6 & Sigma 105 mm DG Macro HSM. For the self-portrait below I used the older Nikon D800 & Nikon AF Nikkor 35-70 mm lens.
