I Am Alive Challenge 12.06.22 - The Day of Russia

Hello, friends! Yesterday we had a sudden trip. This Sunday was Russia Day, a big holiday, but since we had a good time on Saturday we didn't have any special plans. Except we wanted to go to the local market, buy some groceries and go shopping and buy my wife a new T-shirt at the same time.

We made an appointment with some friends, filled up the car, and drove off. The mood was great and at the market we had a great time shopping - my friends bought some summer clothes and my wife found what she wanted, but we got through it very quickly and we didn't want to go back home, because the weather was just great.

Irina, our driver, suggested a ride out of town in the direction of the neighboring town, and of course we agreed.

Irina, our driver, suggested a ride out of town, we of course agreed. And while we were driving we decided to visit Novoshakhtinsk. It was a small town about 30 kilometers away from us. The aim of the trip was the park, opposite the city mall, and the monument to the soldiers of the World War II.

One of my distant relatives and my wife's grandfather's brothers are buried there.

The place is very beautiful, well-maintained, and the large list that still completes it commands great respect and on this day it was a pleasure to honor those who gave their lives in the fight against fascism.

After a walk through the park, we went to the mall, as it was very hot and the store was air-conditioned, and after cooling down a bit, we bought some local beer for the evening and drove home.

A new place and new emotions is always nice and I think next weekend we will go somewhere else, thanks to the car and time :)
