"¿Está la educación de los niños en riesgo? [Esp-Eng]
Una señora con su hija pequeña tomada de la mano llegó a un local comercial con una evidente molestia que tenía que ver con la pequeña. La madre se sentía decepcionada al enterarse de que a su hija no le habían puesto tarea para la casa, lo cual no parecía ser la primera vez. En cuestión de segundos, la frustración se convirtió en preocupación y ahora la madre se lamentaba por el bajo nivel educativo que había en la escuela de la niña. “¿Estará aprendiendo algo mi hija?” Fue una pregunta que generó más inquietud a todos los presentes.
Y es que la mencionada situación no es un caso aislado sino una triste realidad en nuestro país. Cada vez es más común escuchar a los padres quejarse sobre la poca enseñanza que están recibiendo sus hijos y la irregularidad con la que asisten a clases por motivos que hasta en ocasiones ellos mismos desconocen. Algunos padres optimistas piensan que esto en cualquier momento puede mejorar, mientras otros miran preocupados como va pasando el tiempo sin rastros de algún cambio.
Muchos padres y representantes no se han quedado de brazos cruzados y han hecho lo necesario para solventar las falencias de un sistema educativo muy cuestionable. Algunos optan por inscribir a sus hijos en lo que se conoce como “tareas dirigidas” y otros toman la opción de contratar a alguien que pueda impartir clases particulares a los pequeños. La idea de un tutor tampoco escapa de entre las opciones que se pueden tomar, ya que se trata de algo que puede definir el futuro del niño. De acuerdo a la edad, algunos lo hacen en materias específicas como matemática o español, mientras que otros se concentran más en la escritura y la lectura.
Más allá de las deficiencias escolares, los padres pueden cultivar hábitos de estudio en los niños en casa, siendo esto también una oportunidad para compartir y ver las habilidades y debilidades en las que se debe trabajar con ellos. De esta forma se puede ayudar a los niños a ver las tareas como algo importante en su formación educativa, y comprender que lo que están aprendiendo es para su propio beneficio y una ayuda fundamental para futuros estudios que deseen realizar. Tanto el padre como la madre pueden crear métodos de enseñanza que le hagan ver al niño los estudios desde un plano más razonable y agradable.
En mi caso, uno de los habito que me ayudó muchísimo fue el de leer el periódico todos los días. Recuerdo que mi padrino lo compraba todos los días, y yo de manera puntual siempre sacaba la página dedicada a las noticias deportivas para hacer mi lectura. También recuerdo un buen consejo de una prima que siempre me decía que leyera en voz alta para así poder ir mejorando mi pronunciación y adaptarme al ritmo literario de cada oración. Solía repetir las palabras poco conocidas y algunas las copiaba en una hoja aparte para luego escribirla a modo de caligrafía.
El encomio de mis familiares cuando me escuchaban leer, era una fuente de ánimo e impulso que me hacía sentir bien. Siempre es bueno tener palabras para felicitar a los niños cuando ellos se esfuerzan por cumplir con sus tareas. Si fuese el caso del principio, los padres pueden tomar la iniciativa y asignar ciertas tareas con las que los niños se apliquen y aprendan con una bonita actitud, esa de saber que todo lo aprenden y estudian los va preparando por un camino de amplio recorrido. Dichas acciones también les permitirán desarrollar un grado de responsabilidad y disciplina que los ayudará a crecer como buenos estudiantes.
Quizás en algún momento hablar de temas de investigación resultaba ser algo un poco complicado, pero ahora la tecnología ha facilitado dicha búsqueda. Aún así, es bueno mostrarle a los niños el uso equilibrado de esto, ver la tecnología como una herramienta para el estudio y no como un medio para hacer todo lo más rápido posible y sin esfuerzo alguno. Las actividades con temas deportivos o artísticos también pueden fomentarse desde casa, pues le dan variedad a los estudios y le permite a los padres ver si sus hijos poseen habilidades especiales en otros campos.
¿Quiere decir esto que ya no es necesario mandar al niño a la escuela? ¡Por supuesto que no! Pues entendemos perfectamente que lo que ellos aprenden en casa se complementa con lo que reciben en la escuela. Más bien, lo que quiero destacar es que ante cualquier deficiencia por parte de las instituciones educativas, los padres siempre tendrá la manera de brindar a sus hijos la enseñanza y orientación necesaria para que vayan forjándose como verdaderos ciudadanos de cualidades y principios. Ni siquiera en el peor de los escenarios se debe bajar la guardia, y mucho menos se debe subestimar la enseñanza que se le puede impartir a los niños desde el mismo hogar.
La educación de los niños es un tema que ha todo padre le interesa, y por eso entendemos la reacción que muchos tienen al ver la realidad de un sistema que no da síntomas de mejoría. Se trata del futuro de los pequeños, así que Vale la pena cualquier esfuerzo que se invierte en pro de su bienestar. Felicito a esos padres diligentes que hacen todo lo posible para sacar adelante la educación de sus hijos, teniendo presente que a corto y largo plazo es la mejor inversión que pueden hacer para ellos.

In a matter of seconds, frustration turned to concern and now the mother was lamenting the low educational level at the little girl's school. "Will my daughter be learning anything?" was a question that generated more concern to all present.
And the fact is that the aforementioned situation is not an isolated case but a sad reality in our country. It is increasingly common to hear parents complain about the little education their children are receiving and the irregularity with which they attend classes for reasons that sometimes they themselves are unaware of. Some optimistic parents think that this may improve at any moment, while others watch worriedly as time goes by without a trace of any change.
Many parents and representatives have not stood idly by and have done what is necessary to remedy the shortcomings of a very questionable educational system. Some choose to enroll their children in what is known as "directed homework" and others take the option of hiring someone who can tutor the little ones. The idea of a tutor does not escape from among the options that can be taken, since it is something that can define the child's future. Depending on the age, some do so in specific subjects such as mathematics or Spanish, while others concentrate more on writing and reading.
Beyond school deficiencies, parents can cultivate study habits in their children at home, being this also an opportunity to share and see the skills and weaknesses that should be worked on with them. In this way, children can be helped to see homework as something important in their educational formation, and understand that what they are learning is for their own benefit and a fundamental help for future studies they wish to undertake. Both the father and the mother can create teaching methods that make the child see the studies from a more reasonable and pleasant point of view.
In my case, one of the habits that helped me a lot was to read the newspaper every day. I remember that my godfather used to buy it every day, and I would always take out the page dedicated to sports news to read it. I also remember good advice from a cousin who always told me to read aloud so I could improve my pronunciation and adapt to the literary rhythm of each sentence. I used to repeat the unfamiliar words and some I would copy them on a separate sheet of paper and then write it down as calligraphy.
The praise of my relatives when they heard me reading was a source of encouragement and a boost that made me feel good. It is always good to have words to congratulate children when they make an effort to do their homework. If it is the case at the beginning, parents can take the initiative and assign certain tasks that children can apply themselves to and learn with a nice attitude, that of knowing that everything they learn and study is preparing them for a long road ahead. Such actions will also allow them to develop a degree of responsibility and discipline that will help them grow as good students.
Perhaps at one time talking about research topics was a bit complicated, but now technology has made it easier. Still, it is good to show children the balanced use of this, to see technology as a tool for study and not as a means to do everything as fast as possible and without any effort. Activities with sports or artistic themes can also be encouraged from home, as they give variety to studies and allow parents to see if their children have special skills in other fields.
Does this mean that it is no longer necessary to send the child to school? Of course not! For we understand perfectly well that what they learn at home is complemented by what they receive at school. Rather, what I want to emphasize is that in the face of any deficiency on the part of educational institutions, parents will always have the means to provide their children with the necessary teaching and guidance so that they can forge themselves as true citizens with qualities and principles. Not even in the worst of scenarios should we lower our guard, and much less should we underestimate the teaching that can be imparted to children at home.
The education of children is a subject that every parent is interested in, and that is why we understand the reaction that many have when they see the reality of a system that shows no signs of improvement. It is about the future of the little ones, so it is worth any effort that is invested for their welfare. I congratulate those diligent parents who do everything possible to further their children's education, bearing in mind that in the short and long term it is the best investment they can make for them.

Es encomiable lo que muchos padres hacen para compensar tales carencias, aunque no se tenga para pagarle a un tutor, siempre existirá la posibilidad de que en el mismo hogar se pueda ayudar al niño. Esa técnica que usaron contigo es genial, leer el periódico diariamente.
Está situación representa un gran reto para los padres pero estoy convencida de que los buenos padres se las ingeniarán y solucionarán.
