Celebrathing Employees' Birthday Ignites The Fire In Me (#272)

What physical activity boosts your confidence and makes you feel the happiest? How often do you do it? Feel free to share some photos (or even a video) of you doing it.

Video Is Mine

Hello #ladiesofhive, how are you all doing this week? I trust you are enjoying the winter, harmattan, and rain in your different locations and time zones.

We have been prompted by @ifamgirl to share our experiences in two raised prompts for the week. I wish to go with the second prompt, which talks about physical activities that boost my confidence. I am a lover of sports and events attached to it; however, another physical activity that I engage in and appreciate so much is celebrating employees birthday including mine.

Celebrating employees’ birthdays is one of the most sensitive aspects of my job. As a result, it keeps me on my toes, checking the employees' database, updating dates, and setting up an action plan for each of these activities, starting from the Chairman down to the cleaners. The most critical aspect of it is omitting an employee's birthday. Initially, it used to happen, and when it does, all hell will let loose because you will be seen as an enemy of progress. Again, they would think the person derives joy in denying employees their rights and benefits. So, I resorted to an application that I am using to make my work seamless.

This activity boosts my confidence, especially when it is over, and I get positive feedback from the employee. Again, it is always a happy moment for me, especially when those smiles radiate from the faces of the employee expressing gratitude for making their day beautiful. It is more physical than you can imagine, because every employee looks forward to this date, with all the preparations and some level of competition to outdo their colleagues.

To make that day successful, a cake, wine, and a voucher are shared with the celebrant. Some senior staff will cook and organise after the work party, where everyone is allowed express themselves musically and otherwise.

In my workplace, we celebrate at least one to three birthdays every month.
Hence, for me, it is a 365-day activity that must be well-planned and executed to boost employee morale, efficiency, and productivity, and improve employee bonding.

While doing this, my confidence is not only boosted, but it is doubled because they would trust me more, be more loyal to the firm, and put in their best, which translates to an increase in productivity and overall growth of the business.

My Care team did this regularly promoting better team dynamics, strengthens teamwork, and makes our work experience more enjoyable. The benefits extend to the patients under our care as well.

That's brilliant. I have read some of your posts , your efforts and value you've added to the medical parastatal especially being there for patients during the Covid -19 warfare.
Who won't promote such great sacrifices and make work enjoyable?. That's the minimum the HR team can do to support those in the battle field saving lives and putting their own lives on the line for humanity.
