Hello friends of the black and white community! Another therapeutic photographic day begins. I finished choosing some photos to show you from my trip downtown. I encountered more than one particular thing; I already told you about the shutter speed issue due to having my head elsewhere, but I still managed to rescue many photographs anyway. I separated the ones I liked the most and that help me with the narrative. Downtown Lima is a beautiful place, its architecture is amazing, you come across churches hundreds of years old from the colonial era, balconies, infrastructures still made of wattle and daub (quincha and adobe) used by the Incas, and even now houses are built in the Andes with these organic materials—a privilege if we look at it from the point of view of being able to make your home with your own hands, I don't know.

My spirits remain the same. I've liked taking some time to talk about mental health; I didn't pay attention to it, or maybe I anesthetized it with substances that made the moment different. Things always get out of hand, as many of us later see on the street asking for money, a lost, destroyed life. Some are still standing, fighting, taking advantage of the gift they had, like the great Machín, who imitates a well-known actor from a clown program (Pata Clown was the show). But then I see and I am afraid—not demeaning well-earned work, I admire it—but as I was saying, there are many problems in people's minds. Many people without a diagnosis live with those voices in their head telling you that you can't, that you are incapable. And then they pass by, and after a while they return and resort to what calms that anguish: alcohol, a joint, various substances, to silence them. It has happened to me and I have been a survivor; I only managed to get out of all this... I don't know, I always keep a small spark alive, trying by all means for the day to come when I feel completely well. It's not pleasant to walk around doped up. This month has been very hard. You know that people with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) have a tendency to attach; we attach to a person and express love in a very pure way, we idealize our partner, there is no other. Perhaps when you are with that person for a long time, after 3 or 4 hours we begin to feel uncomfortable and want to be alone. The second she walks out the door, your brain feels bad because she is leaving: what will she be thinking? Did she feel uncomfortable? Will she get home safely? Will she talk to me? Why didn't I tell her to stay? And a thousand other ideas. And when all the ideas you thought of and created in your mind happen, you feel a pain so intense as if you were burning; it's something hard to explain. I've read a lot about this, and I found a part in a book that described it exactly, but with needles—it is one of the most disgusting feelings a person like me can feel, feeling like everyone always walks away from you, feeling like you are going to turn to stone and no longer feel anything. But no, each time it hurts more, the needles are bigger, and you realize that you are ending up alone, that that only person you had, you overwhelmed her with your problems and attitudes and she just had to flee. Now I am, as I tell you, medicated; my brain is not functional. And it all led to this: to what we see on the streets and judge and point fingers at—why is he like that? He ruined his life, he's a nobody—and one never thinks what that person might be feeling, because nobody gives them the opportunity to believe in them, to help them heal what we all have wounded: the mind, the soul. And thus be able to take people with a lot of talent out of the streets, out of a dark world where some see no way out.

I leave you this series with this phrase by Mario Benedetti: "Don't give up, please don't yield, even if the cold burns, even if fear bites, even if the sun sets and the wind falls silent." Good vibes, and you know, until we meet again.
