RE: Money... Do We Need It?
You are viewing a single comment's thread:
Time is always scarce.
In the next 100 years, we will find that food is scarce.
Gold will not buy food, but if you grow food, food will be given to you in times of need.
Anyway, money is a concept, a way to preserve your calories spent now, into calories in the future.
It is not very good. It really only works in areas of relative abundance.
When looking at a pure, clean running stream, how much is a glass of water worth?
You have been out in a desert for a day, dying of thirst, how much is a glass of water worth?
But really, we do not need money, what we need is an accounting of energy expended balances.
We could create a computer-aided bartering system.
But what is really necessary is a balancing of energy system.
If you give too much, you will drain yourself, and develop resentment... and so, the future, best system will account for energy balances. And balance really is that important.
When We add free energy tech, WHY would W need to account for Our energy in any way?
not electricity
Your personal energy. Your body, Your time, Your well being
Well, that is what money accounts for. And when We have free energy running, robots to do necessary work no One wants to do (like cleaning commodes, as just one example), able to live as richly as We choose, able to fulfill Our potential rather than having to find some way to plug Our energy in somehow to get the slave tokens so We can worry about food/clothing/shelter for the psychopath masters that keep Us slaving on Our planet, holding Our wealth in "trusts..."
Our time will be Ours to spend as We choose. We can spend time with Our families, learn what interests Us, apply Our caring as moves Us...
And psychopaths will not be promoted to the top of the power setup. There will be no power setup, and We will only need the three Laws of Ethics...
The three Laws of Ethics (Natural Law expressed as the three things not to do):
Do not willfully and without fully informed consent hurt or kill the flesh of anOther
Do not willfully and without fully informed consent take or damage anything that does not belong to You alone
Do not willfully defraud anOther (which can only happen without fully informed consent)
