Fungi Friday: A new friend emerges.

01.jpg
The process always starts off the same way. Oooh fungi. Make sure you don't step on it, be careful and pull out the camera.

02.jpg
I want to see those gills so I get down on the ground attempting to position myself for what's under the cap.

03.jpg
Fanning outward like a coral reef of fungi emerging from another stump.

04.jpg
The stump is looking jaggedly cut by a chainsaw based on what I see. I'm starting to see moose ears here.

05.jpg
This fungi isn't moving and neither is this branch. The simplest way forward is through and I see it. Hard headed plant life, what can you do?

06.jpg
Be sure to get some extra trees in the background. The woods are where I find these all the time. Sometimes in the strangest of places.

07.jpg
The top view. I wonder if this is part fungi part plant? The best of both worlds.

08.jpg
The plant really doesn't want to yield to the mushroom. I wonder if this was a car crash in super slow motion? I can't look away.

09.jpg
A slight angle change to prove the photo isn't an exact duplicate. I have to take safety shots, I can't be the only one that does this. I look down at the camera in an attempt to see if the photo looks any good when....

10.jpg
A new friend appears sitting silently on the fungi dangling their legs off the edge.

11.jpg
Hello, I couldn't help but notice you're taking pictures of this beautiful fungi.

I couldn't believe it and snapped a quick photo.
Get the fungi in the frame, I'm blocking the shot.

12.jpg
Yes, it's very beautiful and I got a proper shot of you and the fungi. Thanks for the tip.

We spoke about fungi and Friday. I explained why I was there and they were surprised to hear about this day. They told me they'd pass along the message to the other mushrooms in the area.

They were really excited to hear I was taking an interest in what they had to say. After our conversation I left them laughing with a good joke. People remember the good ones.

What sound does a mushroom sports car make? Shroom, shroom!

I think it worked, look at that expression 😀

Hahaha like the friend with the fungi @buffalobison 😎
It’s interesting to see the branches go through the fungi/ or the fungi around them.
Great find 😊

The mushrooms can be hard-headed. I've been finding them literally petrified over the last few months.

This doesn't seem to stop the plant life but in the case it was quite fresh looking. They must have a symbiotic relationship 😀

I think I broke @mipiano. I'm glad, I thought it was pretty funny too in a groan joke type of way. These are the best type! 😀

Thanks, this one was is looking particularly supple. I've been running across mostly petrified ones lately and I'm hoping to see some more fresh ones like this one.
