Last weekend I was visiting a region of my childhood. There was a big family celebration.
Fortunately, I also had some time to wander through nature and visit one interesting place.

So I invite you for a little tour of the karst Caves in Pomezí.
The word "Pomezí (Border)" can be taken literally, because we are located on the border (border) of the Jeseníky Mountains and the Rychlebské Mountains near the town of Jeseník.
In prehistoric times, when mining activities took place, marine limestone sediments of animal origin were raised here, which eventually turned into crystalline limestone (marble).

There are many surface quarries in the region for the extraction of limestone and granite. During the quarrying of stone in one of the quarries, the entrance to the caves was discovered in 1949.
The caves are fissured. This means that their corridors were formed by wrinkles and were not created by running groundwater.

Můžeme zde spatřit i endemické pavouky.
The caves have a stable year-round air temperature of 7 - 8 degrees Celsius, the sightseeing route measures 390 meters and 196 steps are climbed on the route.
The caves are a wintering ground for bats and horseshoe bats. We can also see endemic spiders here.
Z bohaté krasové výzdoby jmenuji například:
Of the rich karst decoration, I name, for example:

Nejznámější stalaktit zdejších jeskyní je kamenné Srdce.
The most famous stalactite of the local caves is the Stone Heart.

IMG_20220610_141425.jpg

Je to jediný krápník, kterého se můžete dotknout. Váže se k němu tato pověst.
Dotkněte se kamene, v duchu vyslovte své přání a do roka a do dne se vám přání vyplní. Podmínkou splnění přání je, nikomu své přání nesdělovat a nezapomenout jej :-). Osobně mohu pravdivost pověsti potvrdit :-).
It's the only stalactite you can touch. This myth is attached to him.
Touch the stone, say your wishes in your mind and your wishes will be fulfilled within a year and a day. The condition for fulfilling the wish is that you do not share your wish and forget it :-). Personally, I can confirm the truth of the mythus :-).

In the end, I kept a few not quite successful macros for you. With the permission of the guide, I tried to capture the formation of stalactite.

Leaking surface water contains dissolved calcium, which is gradually deposited on the stone. With each drop of water, a new stalactite gradually "grows" :-)

There is another cave in the local region. They are near the village of Písečná. These caves were "modeled" by the flowing groundwater in the sandstone and therefore do not have stalactite decoration. Maybe he'll see it there sometime next time :-).

I hope you enjoyed the tour of the caves and you will come to see them in person someday :-).
The Jeseníky and Rychlebské mountains offer many interesting places for summer and winter holidays or just for a few days trip.

Exploring caves always informative, exciting period of time beneath the ground, some amazing capture here with unusual formations.

Interesting read about the history of the cave, something we were taught at school is the stalactite holds on tight to grow from the roof of cave while stalagmite, may one day grow taller to connect to the stalactite.

Life lessons, not everything happens instantaneously it takes years in some cases!

I always wonder what nature can create.

Stalagmite "grows" much slower than stalactite.
In our country, children from schools go on trips to caves to see in nature what it really looks like :-)

Thanks for your comment and tipu

It's like fingerprints. The same at first glance, but there is something different in each :-)

Hi @bucipuci,
Great to see you using the #travelfeed tag! We launched the #travelfeed curated tag more than 3 years ago and have been supporting the best travel blogs on Hive ever since. But did you know that TravelFeed has evolved? Based on the feedback of thousands of Hive travel bloggers we created TravelFeed.io.

TravelFeed.io brings together all the benefits of Hive decentralized blogging with features that you as a travel blogger will love: Photo galleries, Instagram embeds, custom maps and more. We also offer many of the features you love on Peakd such as drafts and post scheduling. And if you want, you can even use our easy site builder to set up your own travel blog on your own domain which can be a great way to generate a passive income from your blog!

Unfortunately, focussing on developing the best platform for travelers means that we no longer curate the #travelfeed tag. But, you can log in with your Hive account on TravelFeed.io to publish your next travel post, and it will be posted to Hive automatically! Every day, we select the best posts and reward them with an upvote and added visibility.

We would love to see you on TravelFeed.io soon :)

Thanks for feedback. I don't often have travel articles, so I didn't know about the change. Next time I write an article about travel, I will definitely try your platform.

Unknowingly, I managed to capture the wall of the cave, the illuminated "veil" and the corridor of the cave in one photo :-)
