¡En hora buena! llegó la invitación de mi amiga @annafenix a participar en su iniciativa, que es sumamente importante como es la prevención contra el cáncer de mamas. Así que mejor motivación que esta, para invitar a mis amigas @evev, @sacra97 y @actioncats a compartir con nosotros, todo lo que nos puedan aportar e informar.

Historia Personal

Hablar acerca del Cáncer de Mamas, es un tema neurálgico en mi familia, ya que mi madre hace como 7 años, fue diagnosticada con este terrible mal, en la mama derecha. Todo empezó con un simple chequeo ginecológico, que entre los exámenes de rutina, estaban los de eco mamario y mamografía.

Como siempre la llevamos a realizarse todos sus chequeos al llevárselos al ginecólogo este la remitió al especialista el medico mastologo- oncólogo-cirujano, quien hizo su revisión física, pidiendo nuevamente se repitieran los exámenes (eco mamario y mamografía) pues no eran de calidad, las imágenes no eran muy buenas.

Se repitieron y en efecto se podía ver una pequeña lesión en la mama derecha. De allí, le mandaron a hacer su respectiva biopsia, dando por resultado cáncer de mamas ductal grado III. Estaba todavía pequeño afortunadamente. Lo inicial era operarla, hacerle una mastectomía podía ser parcial o completa, mi madre tenia esa opción, por lo pequeño de la lesión.

Pero eso implicaba de que si era parcial, podía quedar "algo" y ese algo se expandiera al resto del tejido y la operación fuese en balde, entonces mi madre eligió la mastectomía completa, para sacar de raíz lo que fuera, debo decir que mi madre fue una guerrera desde un inicio.

Se realizó la operación lo mas pronto que fue posible y casi que inmediatamente iniciaron las sesiones de quimio con otra doctora que era especialista en esta área. Fueron dos años que cada 21 dias había que colocarle sus quimioterapias a mi madre. Fue bastante traumático, por los efectos que causan estos medicamentos, la caída del cabello, los malestares.

No fue nada fácil para la familia, ni para ella, también estaba el tema económico y todo lo que implico todos estos procesos, pero bien valieron la pena pues mi madre hoy en día esta libre de cáncer, es una sobreviviente, la vida nos cambio a todos en diferentes maneras, pero aquí estamos.

Yo como su hija debo de por si tener mas cuidado con estos chequeos, por lo del historial medico familiar, la genética, todos los años debemos someternos a nuestros chequeos anuales con mas detalle. Talking about Breast Cancer, is a neuralgic topic in my family, since my mother about 7 years ago, was diagnosed with this terrible disease, in the right breast. It all started with a simple gynecological checkup, which among the routine exams, were the breast ultrasound and mammography.

As always, we took her to the gynecologist, who referred her to the specialist, a mastologist-oncologist-surgeon, who did her physical examination, asking again to repeat the exams (breast ultrasound and mammography) because they were not of good quality, the images were not very good.

They were repeated and indeed a small lesion could be seen in the right breast. From there, she was sent to do her respective biopsy, resulting in a grade III ductal breast cancer. Fortunately, it was still small. The initial thing was to operate her, a mastectomy could be partial or complete, my mother had that option, because of the smallness of the lesion.

But that implied that if it was partial, "something" could remain and that something could expand to the rest of the tissue and the operation would be in vain, so my mother chose the complete mastectomy, to remove the root of whatever it was, I must say that my mother was a warrior from the beginning.

The operation was performed as soon as possible and almost immediately the chemo sessions began with another doctor who was a specialist in this area. It was two years that every 21 days my mother had to undergo chemotherapy. It was quite traumatic, because of the effects caused by these drugs, the hair loss, the discomfort.

It was not easy for the family, nor for her, there was also the economic issue and everything that all these processes implied, but they were well worth it because my mother today is free of cancer, she is a survivor, life changed us all in different ways, but here we are.

I as her daughter must be more careful with these checkups, because of the family medical history, genetics, every year we must undergo our annual checkups in more detail.
