If Phone Booths Could Talk đ (En/ Es)

Phone boothsâif only they could talk. I remember that in my country there were individual phone booths, but really, by the time I started using them, they were more âpublicâ; that is, the phone wasnât enclosed by glass wallsâthey were just on any street corner, with a metal pole from which you could see a small metal cover for the phone. So, you practically had to climb inside the phone and its cover so that the person behind you wouldnât hear your conversation; it was really uncomfortable, and, of course, theyâd rush you like crazy.
But then, over the years, one of the most popular phone companies came along and set up much more comfortable and private places where you could sit and talk as much as you wanted; they were like little wooden and glass cubicles with a small door where you sat in a small chair and let your conversation run wild, whether it was about business, romance, gossip, or whatever topic you wanted, hahaha. It was very common to see more than one person laughing or looking smitten in these booths, although sometimes they were also places where you made calls that broke your heart, but at least you had the privacy to pull yourself together and step outside.
I remember being fascinated by them because they blocked out all outside noise, so you could only hear your own voice and the voice of the person on the other end of the line; plus, you could talk as long as you wanted without fear of being cut off, since you paid when you left, although there were some places where they charged for the minutes you were going to talk as soon as you entered, so if you âused upâ your minutes, you had to step out and ask for an extensionâif you were lucky enough for the booth attendant to see youâbecause otherwise you had to hang up and go find another booth if you hadnât finished your conversation, and sometimes there werenât any available, and the one youâd just vacated was already taken by someone waiting in line to use a booth. It happened to me many times.
And countless times, these phone booths helped me communicate with family members who werenât in my city and even in other countries. They were a lifeline for many people, including those looking for jobs, because youâd go with your newspapers to the classifieds section and start calling to ask for information. You could take notes there because there was a small table where the phones sat, and there was always a spaceâI imagine it was meant for that purpose. It was also perfect for calling someone anonymously without them knowing it was you; it was a lot of fun to play pranks on people you knew, because the numbers were obviously unknown to your contacts. Thatâs why they bring back so many memoriesâsome pleasant, some funny, some filled with hope, love, and sadness; more than one person experienced a wide range of emotions in that booth.

This is my entry for The Silverbloggers Chronicles - Prompt #47 Telephone Booth Memories, greetings, dear friends!
Me paso muchas veces.

I believe those days were sweeter than this present day. I really wish I experienced that life đ„č. Must have been fun.
What a great time travel you have given us. Those wood and glass cubicles with their little chair became confessionals where people laughed, cried, and managed their entire lives in just a few minutes
That's exactly what the confessionals were like. They hold many stories of people's lives. Thanks for visiting, best regards!
