On this occasion, I went to check out Cafe Melosa, which is a specialty coffee shop that works with some of the best beans in the country. They are located in the San Ignacio shopping center, in Chacao, Caracas, Venezuela. In this type of café, they offer well-known coffees like latte, cappuccino, espresso, among others, but here they offer those special coffees that have different preparations than what we are used to, and since it was my first time in a specialty café, I decided to order a house specialty, a guayoyo made with coffee beans from the state of Trujillo.

While I watched them prepare my coffee and took my photos of the place. I was left thinking and remembering the great variety of cafes we have in the city, among them those with very original themes, the traditional ones, the minimalist ones, the vintage ones, the artistic ones, and now this specialty one; I see the big differences between the traditional cafes from a few years ago and those of now, and the truth is they were nothing out of the ordinary, as they were limited to placing tables and chairs, the necessary furniture for cafes, pleasant, yes, some, but none that stood out, with nothing extra that added something original, unique.

Now I find myself visiting cafes that impress me, whether it's because of their theme, originality, colorful spaces, or being located outdoors, like this cafe that is situated outdoors within the shopping mall, inviting passersby to sit and enjoy the view and, in this case, offering me the experience of trying something unique that isn't found in just any cafe. That fascinated me, so I can say with complete conviction that the experience of enjoying a good coffee today is undoubtedly at another level, because it is no longer offered only to a select group of people, but to anyone who wants to try it, and I think that's great.

Apart from offering you a wide variety of delicious accompaniments with your coffee, it's a matter of the fact that in past cafes, you could only opt for a breakfast if you were lucky or some commercial cookie they sold on the premises. Here at Café Melosa, they offer a wide variety of cakes and homemade desserts, elevating our sweets and snacks. For those who don't know them, that also gave it a point of approval, and although I didn't try any at the moment since I hadn't had breakfast yet and only wanted coffee, I promised myself to return for another coffee and a dessert from the place, because it's worth it.

When they served me my guayoyo coffee, it reminded me of when I used to drink coffee with my grandmother back in her village, that strong coffee, pure coffee essence, as we call it around here, with that slight sweet flavor that awakens the senses. I loved it, folks, so I recommend it to you. Without a doubt, I stick with my cafes of today, as they give us experiences and spaces worth remembering and recommending.

En esta ocasión me fui a conocer la cafetería Cafe Melosa, que es una cafetería de especialidad, donde trabajan con uno de los mejores granos del país. Están ubicados en el centro comercial San Ignacio, por Chacao en Caracas, Venezuela. En este tipo de cafetería ofrecen los cafés conocidos como el latte, capuchino, expreso, entre otros, pero acá te ofrecen esos cafés especiales que tienen preparaciones diferentes a las que estamos acostumbrados y, como era mi primera vez en un café de especialidad, decidí pedir una especialidad de la casa, un guayoyo hecho con un grano de café proveniente del estado Trujillo.

Mientras observaba cómo me preparaban mi café y tomaba mis fotos del lugar. Me quedé pensando y recordando la gran variedad de cafeterías con las que contamos en la ciudad, entre ellas las que tienen temáticas muy originales, las tradicionales, las minimalistas, las de época, las artísticas y ahora esta de especialidad; veo las grandes diferencias entre los cafés tradicionales de hace unos cuantos años atrás y los de ahora y la verdad es que no tenían nada del otro mundo, pues se limitaban a colocar mesas y sillas, el mobiliario necesario para los cafés, agradables, sí, algunos, pero ninguno que destacara, sin nada extra que le aportara algo original, unico.

Ahora me encuentro visitando cafeterías que me impactan, ya sea por su temática, originalidad, por sus espacios coloridos o que están en espacios al aire libre, como este café que está ubicado al aire libre dentro del centro comercial, invitando al transeúnte a sentarse y disfrutar de la vista y, en este caso, que me brinden la experiencia de probar algo único que no se ofrece en cualquier cafetería. Eso me fascinó, entonces puedo decir con toda la convicción que la experiencia de disfrutar un buen café hoy día está a otro nivel indudablemente, porque ya no es ofrecido solo a un selecto grupo de personas, sino al que quiera probarlo y eso me parece genial.

Aparte de que te ofrecen una gran variedad de acompañantes ricos con tus cafés, es cuestión de que en las cafeterías del pasado solo podias optar por un desayuno si tenías suerte o alguna galleta comercial que vendieran en el lugar. Aquí en Café Melosa brindan una gran variedad de tortas y postres caseros, enalteciendo nuestros dulces y meriendas. Para quienes no los conozcan, eso también le dio un punto de aprobación y, aunque para el momento no probé alguno, pues aún no había desayunado y solo quería café, me prometí volver por otro café y un postre del lugar, pues lo vale.

Cuando me sirvieron mi café guayoyo, me pareció evocar cuando tomaba café con mi abuela, por allá en su pueblo, ese café cerrero, pura esencia de café, como le decimos por estas tierras, con ese leve sabor dulzón que te despierta los sentidos. Me encantó, señores, así que se los recomiendo. Sin dudas, me quedo con mis cafeterías de hoy día, pues nos dan experiencias y espacios dignos de recordar y recomendar.
