ENLARGING A WHITE BLOUSE AS A MUST HAVE ACCESSORY
I use the Bianca white with the scissor brand to cut and re-use, to my own love for styling. I love a hem or a collar.
you take a normal blouse and cut it in half. I chose to do this just under the armpit. This means that the original blouse now consists of two new items of clothing. The first is the collar. The second part is a waist piece which has now become an underpressure due to elastic. Can of course be worn under a tunic, sweater or jacket.
I see the hem as the end. I use my sewing machine, 2 cm wide white elastic and needle plus thread for the tie-off. But I also ran the serger along all the cut parts first. this ensures that it cannot fray.
I used a blouse I already had in my closet BUT
you can always use and old shirt from your boyfriend or husband aswell. Another possibility is to get one in a second hand shop or a thrift store. Recycling or Upcycling is so cool and you will for sure get compliments either for re using or for the fact it’s a perfect addition to your closet.
Needed to make the new garments :
- blouse ( choice for color is yours )
- sewing machine
- elastic
- pins needle thread
- scissors
- pen
- lockmachine
The upper part for the collar is the also sewed by the lock machine. I keep it short but I always want less fabric under the for instance sweater. The fact that I kept the sleeves is also because than I not only have the collar But I also have the Cuffs that you see when you pull the sweater somewhat more up than normal.
I also make only colors with a round board for on the chest. I will share that one next Monday in the #needleworkmo day community.
