Wooden Boat

Hi Friends,

I got to spend some time with my grandfather recently and he like to tell many stories. I love and cherish the stories, though he has started repeating many of them at this point.

With dimensia coming on, I try to soak in these moments when I get them.

This last visit, he shared with me about this wooden boat:

He explained that it was a gift from his brother who was in the Navy, while my grandfather was in the Army. This replica is of a super fast boat (for its time) which went around and saved troops who were stranded in the water from attacks. I could tell it held a special memory for him.

It now holds a special memory for me as well :)

I like to listen to the stories of old people even if they repeat them from time to time :) It is strange to compare the things at that times to that of nowadays.

We all should sit down with our elders and spend some time and learn from them. Glad to know your grandfather is a army man. This replica boat is very unique and wonderful. Thanks for sharing this story with us.
