People are too focused on the dollar value of cryptocurrencies, rather than how cryptocurrencies could replace the fiat dollar system entirely.

Spot on—crypto's real threat is eroding fiat's monopoly, but without sound money principles like gold's scarcity, it'll just inflate another bubble. Dollar's devaluation is the bigger story anyway
I always wonder why it's priced in dollars, not that I know what other unit of account there is apart from fiat currencies
