Contentment in today's world
You have to find your contentment. On your terms. Sometimes you have to do what ever it takes with what you can do.
That is what I love about Hive and communities like LeoFinance, CTPTalk, WeAreAliveTribe, LikeTu and many more: I can be as good, as excellent, as positive as I want or need to be.
With the talk of inflation, high interest rates, people have to choose between heat and food and so on what does a person do?
Well, on Hive, as I always say you show up every day and add something.
As for life, we'll it is story time.
I am about to get personal.
Everything I mentioned above happened to me over the last year. About a month ago I new I was going to hit that perverbial financial wall. I had to fix it.
Some of my first thoughts were:
- Start unstaking my Hive
- Get a second job
- Get more credit cards
- Get a loan
- Sell my personal belongings
- Remortgage my house.
I settled on number six.
After discussing with my wife we figured we could get back on the strait and narrow.
It worked.
But I also came to a realization. Back in my parents days, the baby boomers days, the day of the middle class things were different.
You had debt yes, but the average people got married, had kids, bought a house by 20 or 25 years of age and had their house paid by 50.
Then they had time to play, enjoy that debt free freedom.
Somewhere along the way that class of people got brain washed to believe that anything they wanted in life they could and needed tonget it now. Debt became easier to get. And far to much of it.
Few people will be debt free anymore. Did I want a new mortgage that runs me to 80 or 85 years of age? Fuck no.
Am I happy I can live comfortably now? Fuck yes.
But this is the reality.
Can we change this? Absolutely.
Hive fixes this.
Maybe not in the short term but it will in the long run.
I will keep showing up everyday, I will post everyday, I will earn everyday.
I will have Hive for my golden years and I use the 'Man's' debt to live life comfortably until...
Well, maybe the Man will be chasing my hearse down the road. Lol

It sucks to hear that you had to take on more debt and I agree that Hive is looking quite nice. When things go back up, I look forward to seeing you pay off your debt.

You are talking the point. Now is not to live debt life. Things has changed. I love showing up hive daily, if i can't write i comment, upvote share on twitter and on #threads,i still find contentment on hive

Quite a real life experience post I can relate to that I find similar to the situation of things with me now.
Not many would have taken the 6th option you took, it is a bold one and am hope things gets better for us all financially.
