To the Molave Hill, A Walk Down Memory Lane

Hello! Thanks God it's Wednesday! We are half way through the week and sure after Wednesday, days seems to go by fast.

For today's #WednesdayWalk post, I am walking down memory lane. The experience and the photos I shared today are coming from my last visit to my college almamater together with the family wayback 2015. It has been years ago but the memories are still fresh. 😁

So after visiting the husband's family somewhere near Visayas State University (VSU), the school where I studied college, we decided to visit the school to watch a sports event. The school hosted the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA).

As we entered the school premises, so many beautiful memories flashed back at me. When you considered a place your second home, it always feels good to be back.

We walked up to the Molave Hill where the swimming competition was held.

I was happy to be able to see the place again. The Molave Hill is one of my favorite place within the school campus. When I studied here, I stayed in a dormitory and the Molave Hill was our go to place whenever we wanted to relax or getaway from boredom or stress together with my roomates or classmates.

During our visit here, we brought with us our kid who was about two years old during that time. And because of that walking uphill the Molave Hill was a little bit challenging. But it was a moment of realization for me how time flies. I use to walk with friends here, but now I am with the family.

walking up to the hill with the hubby, the baby and the sis-in-law

Walking up to the hill maybe was a little struggle but the beautiful and lush green trees that line up the sides are enchanting. The shade of the tress together with the wind that blows felt so cool and refreshing.

My baby walked as if she can walked up to the hill but after a while, I had to carry her in my arms. And this was when the struggle became more real. 😄 As we went up, the path became steeper and I could feel my sweat starting to come out of my pores and my legs hurt.

For a moment we would stop walking and struck a pose. Thanks to my sis-in-law who loved to click the camera. Then we continued.

We found this huge tree on the side. The tree was really huge it felt like we were already in a dense forest.

A few more steps before we arrived.

Finally we're here at the Molave Hill. The huge Balete tree at the back served as the landmark of this area. I was happy to see this tree still standing strong and sturdy.

And of course, the Molave Hill signage made from Molave I suppose. 😄. This area used to be just trees and vegetation. It kinda saddens me to see it has changed. Of course we cannot stop changes to take place. Sometimes, it is not so bad. In this case, they converted the area to an olympic size swimming pool for the SCUAA.

This was the swimming pool where a swimming competition took place. The swimming pool with Mt. Pangasugan as backdrop was such a wonderful sight.

We stayed for an hour and watched the swimming competition that took place. We cheered for the swimmer who represented VSU. After sometime, we headed back down.

Going down was equally challenging as going up but walking this path again is such a memorable walk for me. It felt I was back home again and just love the nostalgia this place has brought me.

Another #WednesdayWalk initiated by @tattoodjay has made me smile today.
