Never Alone - Walking Partners

(Edited)

It's time for another walk, in fact, to share with you how the walk was. My habit is to present the most recent walk but it is not always possible.

A very bad flu, the worst I've had so far as I remember, kept me indoors for almost a week. This makes me search through the old walks I remember with the help of my personal photo archive. The habit of photographing what I find interesting on each walk now helps me to have what to show. It's not the most recent walk but it's not more than a month old.

It may seem unbelievable but it was, this autumn was miraculously beautiful and in some images, it seems hard to believe it was late October. That's if you look at how the people I met during the walk are dressed, otherwise, the trees with their extremely colored leaves prove that it's autumn.

img_20211022_121341.jpg

Yes, it's extremely beautiful autumn with clear, warm days. Some trees have these yellow leaves that look like a ray of sunshine landing in our park.

img_20211022_121256.jpg

I usually walk with my wife at least once a week through this park, considered the most beautiful in the city. That's why most of the walks I show here are spent in this park, the places are the same but happenings never the same, fortunately!

img_20211022_115653.jpg

I usually show more of the scenery in my park photos but this time I'd like to show some of my fellow walkers, the people I met.

Most of them are those who are used to running in the park. Unfortunately, the pathways that are on the edge of the lake are narrow and are not the best places to meet walkers, joggers, cyclists, others on electric scooters, and so on.

img_20211022_115620.jpg

img_20211022_114116.jpg

The most dangerous are the cyclists who ride at high speed, they are silent, you don't hear them and it's hard to get out of their way. Their presence disturbs most walkers but there are cyclists you can't mind, like this one who is now getting some rest.

img_20211022_114537.jpg

As I said, if you look at the young people running around the park it's hard to believe it's late autumn... This year I was astonished to learn that in the southern part of Romania, i.e. from the Danube River (which forms the border with Bulgaria) to the Carpathian Mountains, the climate has become the Mediterranean! It is incredible to be able to see such a climatic change in one's lifetime. I learned at school, and this is a little after the middle of the last century, that Romania has a temperate-continental climate, with hot summers and long, hard winters. Now the winters are shorter and shorter and without strength, we can say that we don't have more than one month of winter.

img_20211022_114749.jpg

I am an admirer of the Mediterranean area, it was the cradle of European civilization... Italy, Greece. But the Mediterranean climate is hard to bear in summer when there is extreme heat, that's why there are so many forest fires in Spain, France, Italy, Greece. Unfortunately, this will happen in the southern part of my country, Romania. Moreover, some regions will be desertified, this started a long time ago. I won't live to see these things but we always think about the children, the grandchildren.

This is one of the topics I discuss with my wife during the walk. We talk about the many problems that arise in our lives but that doesn't stop us from observing how people relax in the park. Some are fishing.

img_20211022_114417.jpg

img_20211022_114823.jpg

Others can't break away from the phone here, in this urban nature. In fact, the vast majority can't live without smartphones.

img_20211022_114050.jpg

In this park, there are many terraces that make the most of this warm, mild, and long autumn. When we walk around, in the mornings, they have no customers but in the afternoons and evenings, they are full.

img_20211022_114721.jpg

img_20211022_113647.jpg

Finally, I have to show once again the only island in my city, Bucharest. Every walk through the park brings me close to admire it. Of course, it is an artificial island but the idea of an island enchants me.

img_20211022_114017.jpg

The flu doesn't give me peace, my condition is bad but using these photos I realized how beautiful nature and life is and that we should enjoy every moment to the fullest, especially the good ones.

img_20211022_114224.jpg

Always when winter approaches I am already dreaming of next summer, I realize that I am being optimistic without it being characteristic of me.

xet.png

I'll say it again and again, I've found that my main activity lately is... walking. Like all of you, I love to walk, but only now I have realized that walking has become my main mode of relaxation. Slowly, slowly overtaking the other pleasures I still have.

I remembered that I hadn't been fishing for thirty years. Maybe next year we'll make it.

My downtime is shorter, the last time I cast my rod four years ago, although the catch would not have been great, but the time spent with the kids near the lake is worth it. Have a great day! How is Vrancea sleeping)?

The pleasure of the fishing and the beauty of the lake and nature, these I miss. That's why I could never fish in the park.
I hope Vrancea gets as much sleep as possible, it would be bad enough to wake up too early although it can happen anytime.

Such beautiful autumn colours in those magnificent trees in the park! What a pleasure it must be to walk every week here and take those photos to share on #Wednesdaywalk. I love autumn but do not have the privilege of one in my sub tropical part of the world in Australia. We enjoy other environmental conditions with the beautiful ocean and beach.
I didn't realise how climate change was impacting your part of the world as significantly as it is and can only agree with you regarding the state of the world for our children and grandchildren. We must do more to offset climate change. I have to think that the governments are not acting fast enough!
So sorry to hear how badly you feel with this horrible flu @bluemoon.

Thanks a lot for this nice comment! We all want to know another kind of climate, I am in love with the sea, the beach, and the islands. Romania has a Black Sea coast, there are beaches and a summer season that lasts 3-4 months but it doesn't compare to the ocean and tropical seas. So I say I would love to live where you are. That's not possible but it's nice to know that these places exist thanks to you and our other colleagues who show us in their posts where they live.
Yes, this is the worst flu I've had so far, luckily I think it won't last much longer and I'll get rid of it. Thanks and all the best!

In addition to jogging, I also regularly ride a bicycle. You're right it's very quiet and always comes out of the blue, so I don't ride in parks or riverside walkways where there's a lot of pedestrians. Let them walk in a sense of security and enjoyment

I'm convinced that it's a great pleasure to ride a bicycle, especially in nature and without the threat of cars, I understand that especially as Bucharest, where I live is very crowded (11th place in the world, most crowded cities). Unfortunately, cyclists don't have many places to ride for pleasure and the park is the best for them. I understand them, I am not against them but, like anywhere, they are people with common sense and ride with care for others, especially as there are many children in the park, and there is another category, who don't care about others and are a real danger.
Your attitude is to be commended, it is the most correct.

What a lovely day for a walk! It matters not when, it takes me to this time in my head. I didn't realize you have been carrying the flu for a week already? I am sorry to hear that and I hope that you are on the mend. I do love meandering through your beautiful city, I have told you how amazing your green spaces are. I have to agree with you regarding the cyclists. They are a hardship here and even though there are bike lanes, some of them still go on the sidewalk.

I am happy to see a good payout for you as you always put forth the effort. Bravo!

The climate is ever-changing and I already miss those beautiful leaves, so thank you for giving them back to me, even if for the length of time it takes me to read this. We will have mild temperatures on Saturday, I wonder if it is a worldwide trend? No worries, Sunday is going to get chilly and cold on Monday! I think our Mediterranean feeling will be moving away.

Thanks for the beauty, Dan! @bluemoon Feel better soon~

It was one of the beautiful walks because it was almost like a summer day in the middle of autumn. As you say, from now on we start missing the leaves on the trees. I love the leafless trees too, they have beautiful desperation as they search the sky with bare branches. It seems like a backward image, the trees with their roots reaching for the sky. I think you like that too.

I had a big surprise with this payout, I was voted by some whales for the first time, it's my record and I'm glad I received it and I don't even know how to show my gratitude for it. I guess I have to say again that I think the reward received primarily reflects the value of the post but I think there are several other criteria for which such high votes are given. From now on I won't be able to say that I wasn't noticed too.

The flu has taken all my strength and desire to do something. I'm hardly starting to write anything, a few times I gave up before I finished. I'm feeling better now and hope to be done in a few days. I'm trying to write something for #marketfriday.

Thanks, Denise, for always the good thoughts and words. I wish you a nice weekend and may your Christmas preparations be at least as nice as your blogs are.

I saw the payout and was really happy for you. You deserve it. I think it may become more of a habit. You are kind of hard to break. :)

Glad you are feeling better.

So sorry to hear that you've got a really bad flu and I hope that it gets better real soon, but I'm happy to hear that these photos of such a beautiful area have not only cheered you up a bit, but have also shown me just how splendid your home is too.

I agree with you regarding the extreme change in the climate as we too in Australia are having new and unusual weather patterns and I still can't believe how people can deny that the climate is changing so drastically when it is so plain and simply obvious.

Goodluck to you over there and I look forward to the day that I can come and walk around that park in real life!

How nice! I'd love that to happen.
I would be glad not only if climate change were slowed or stopped but also if the distances between us were to shrink, i.e. be easier to travel.
Thank you very much!

Yes. Totally agree!

And I know that our international borders are now open- atleast to students for the moment anyway, so it won;t be long around we're all crisscrossing the globe and taking the virus with us too...

Thank you! Glad to see you. I see you're a gaming fan, I missed this train and don't have time to catch it anymore, it's dedicated to young people anyway. Did you buy the car you wanted?

I can't really say that it's only for young people as my father is a gamer too and he is 62 years old 😃

As for the car, not yet. But I'll sure make a post about it when the magic happens!

Of course, nothing is exclusive, I know there are enthusiasts of all ages, congratulations to your dad. I guess it's the girls to "blame", isn't it? Games of any kind help develop many skills, I just remember that they are big-time consumers and I have trouble managing it properly.

Good luck in finding and purchasing the car you want, I'm waiting to see the announcement so I can enjoy it too.

I think we actually got this from him and not vice versa 🙂

And I totally agree with the time consuming but it also helps to gain some skills that maybe in other context would be harder to do so!

Thanks, I'll make sure you won't miss that post! 😃

Thank you! You know, I've thought about that possibility myself, so it's the parents' fault. Actually, they're to blame for the good and the bad. I'm glad you put me on the list of people who need to know...
