A short walk through the park near my house

avatar

Time goes by so fast that it makes me so tired, I don't even realize how weeks go by. I'm trying to figure out why time was so long like it never ends when I was a kid and now when it should be moving slowly towards the end, it seems to fly by.

Well, I was not the one who discovered this phenomenon, all mature people have noticed this change in perception, because it is a perception, not a reality, as I read somewhere, that the earth rotates faster or slower, I don't remember, and this would have the effect of accelerating the passage of time.

I could search the internet for more theories about this problem, but I prefer not to and just say what I think is the cause...

To relate to me. I was a child 60 years ago. It was another world, another development, other problems, less, everything was less, from our knowledge, from our passions, from our openness to the world, from the information we had. Our brains were more rested, our brains had fewer needs, and life was quieter and so, as a consequence, time passed more slowly than now, when we can no longer embrace information, development, technology... social networks, we don't have time for everything.

Simply put, in the same time frame, in the past we had less to do and now we don't get to do everything we want to do... hence the feeling that time is passing faster!

Now, when I think I've cleared up this time issue, I realize there's another one that relates to size. When I was a child everything seemed much bigger than it really was. I checked this out with the park next door. When I was a kid I was afraid to go to the park alone so I wouldn't get lost. Now the park seems small to me, I walk through it in about 10 minutes...

For this I don't have an explanation, that's why I invite you to a short walk through the park near my house, Bazilescu Park in Bucurestii Noi, the neighborhood where I live in Bucharest (capital of Romania).

Signs of spring are everywhere. The decorative trees have already blossomed while the forest trees have not yet noticed that spring has come.

Middle of the park. Where the flags are. These are the flags of Romania. In front is a willow tree.

Small leaves, fresh and fragile leaves, yellowish green, appeared on the long and elastic branches of the willows.

This is the middle of the park, and the entrance from the boulevard (Bucurestii Noi Boulevard) is on the left side of the picture. But let me show you how it looks from the boulevard, from the main entrance of the park.

In the middle of the park, there is a summer theatre, a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1954 on the occasion of the European Youth Festival. A 2000-seat theatre where theatre performances and concerts were held in summer. The building has not been used since 1990 and is in an advanced state of disrepair.

There are promises that this building will be rehabilitated and there is some chance that this will happen because next year there are mayoral elections and in such situations, incumbent mayors try to achieve something important to get the votes of the residents.

You must have noticed how many trash cans there are in the park...

... this is a desperate attempt to get those who come to the park not to throw garbage on the ground, on the paths, and on the flowers. Unfortunately, many do not have the education not to do this. Again, unfortunately, those who do not respect these rules of civilization and, especially, those who destroy the green space and benches are young people and teenagers.
Because of this new generation that will take over the country in not many years, my hope for a better future is almost nil!

I will now forget these unpleasantries and focus on the park and the walk, trying to observe and report what I see, as @tattoodjay's guide says, which makes us both members in the #WednesdayWalk community and more mindful when we walk, even more selfless. Because we don't keep what we see to ourselves, we share it here for everyone. We also need to smile, with a smile we can erase a lot of unpleasantness, thank you, @elizacheng, and "Make me Smile".

The main purpose of this walk was a discovery. To see the earliest signs of spring, brought by the plants and trees in the park.

One plant that always brightens the beginning of spring is Forsythia. The intense yellow color and the multitude of flowers, quite ephemeral, make this bush one of the most famous and appreciated.

I'm so sorry this flower doesn't stay longer.

But it's not just the big bushes that are spectacular right now, I love the little flowers even more as they rush out of the ground as soon as they feel the warmth of the sun.

Star of Bethlehem

I looked up this little plant and found that it blooms in May and June. Could this be a mistake? I see it blooming now and we are just over halfway through March!

Viola odorata - Sweet violet

One of my favorite flowers, I have it in my yard. It grows everywhere it is left alone. Small, fragile, and very fragrant.

Mahonia aquifolium - Mahonie

A flower with evergreen leaves, resistant to harsh winters. A park path is lined with this shrub.

These are the flowers that caught my attention on this almost daily walk I take in this park so close to my home (about 100 m). This park, Bazilescu, is a blessing to me. I have a very small yard but the park also gives me the feeling of a big yard. It's a well-kept park, many gardeners work here. Now it's time for the trees and bushes to be trimmed.

It was a very enjoyable walk, especially as it's not very hot yet. When it gets warmer the park gets very crowded and the walks are more stressful. Only in the early morning is it a bit quiet... well, that will happen to start in May. Until then I'll be walking a lot more!

A beautiful park to have stroll. We can see the nature has been awakening. Indeed, times goes by so fast after 20s. For a long time, I feel like weeks have turned into days. What I understood from your feelings is that it will be like that from now on :/
