Three Tune Tuesday #35 | My Top 3 System of a Down songs

avatar

Greetings fellow Musical Hivers 🎼

Hello everyone! I'm back for yet another Three Tune Tuesday 😏. This is week 35 and today, dear reader, I'll keep this post short as I find myself with very low energy and mood... Maybe I'll talk about it someday or maybe not...

There's just too much going on in my life right now that is changing my point of view in many aspects. And that may come with more conflict rising as I push through being more true to myself 😩.

Lately I've been a bit obsessive with cleaning up and organization, building some new furniture, and now realize that's my way of running from some feelings that I think my mind is screaming at me. Since I can't seem to organize or let those feelings be I try to organize everything else around me... And then, afterwards I say I'm super tired and I think "of course, you just spended 3 hours reorganizing your dinner room". Is it really? Or I'm tired from these emotions dragging me down because I'm running away from them?

But, dear reader, I'm getting ahead of myself and I really don't feel like letting go on words today... Just want to stay in bed, watching some netflix and listening to some sad music. I hope you understand 🙏

The Three Tune Tuesday idea was created by @ablaze and as he explains it 👇

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning a prize.

So with that being said, today I'm going to share with you, dear reader, my 3 favourite songs by System of a Down. I've listen to a lot of them in my late teen years plus with Spliknot, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Nirvana and also Muse.

I really had a heavy metal and rock phase as I've mentioned it before in some comments with @ablaze. When I think of it, it was a really angry and self-discovering phase a bit like now really 🤔.

My boyfriend at the time just had broken up with me and it was quite a long relationship. The first love, the one you think will be forever with your highschool sweetheart 😂. Of course at that time I thought it was the end of the world and I was really a co-dependent type in the relationship.

So, listening to heavy metal and rock music gave me that power to endure that difficult time. Keeping my mind busy and letting go all the anger. Today I'll just leave here my 3 song recommendation with the lyrics on the video and just let the tunes and words speak for itself. Hope you enjoy 😌

Dear reader, here we go 🤘

OOOHHH I imagine ahahaha 😆 When I make a long car ride (3h or plus), usually there's a part here I'm screaming inside the car trying to follow along some heavy metal so eventually I will blow up my vocal cords 🙈🙈

How can a person resist with this kind of entry guitar solo? 😱😱

I actually never listened to System of the Down before. The three songs were very good actually. I must do a rock TTT next myself.

Great stuff @blackdaisyft, I am not overly familiar with System of Down, other than Toxicity and Chop Suey, so cool to listen to another few of their songs, I wouldn't really be into metal per say, but can always appreciate good music and these songs certainly fall into that category.

Sorry to hear about the low energy and lethargy, this of course happens from time to time, and you have to listen to your body or inner voice and take the rest; or shorten the post; or do whatever needs to be done to try to regain some balance and perspective. For me something we can often forget, but which is key is to be sure to look after ourselves. Everything actually starts by looking after yourself. I used to think that sounded selfish, but unless we are in a good place within ourselves, then we can often be projecting negative vibes outwards and even inwards. It was some friends that I noticed who were good at sometimes saying no to others or doing what was best for them that got me thinking along those lines. Now full disclosure, I'm not very good at this myself and I am a bit of a people pleaser, but to even allow these kind of thoughts and not be self critical is good in my experience.

Anyhow, thanks again for the great tunes, and I hope you are less tired next week, mind yourself.

Hehehe glad you liked it even though metal is not really your favorite genre 😄

Thank you so much for the pep talk and the reminder to not be self critical! Sometimes it's really hard to do so.

I'm sure next week I'll be in a different mood and hopefully bring some more cheerfull tunes 😉

Take care 🤗
