A beautiful morning to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you all are doing well just as I am doing here, it's a great pleasure for me to share with you the making of this simple outfit for my friend's wedding, it's a simple dress with the combination of a foam material and floral lace fabric.

Recently, most people have started embracing the western type of wedding where only the bride, groom, close family members and few friends will be present for the wedding, unlike the Nigerian type of wedding where almost the whole community will be present at the wedding. The economy of Nigeria presently has taught most people on how to manage their resources for a wedding, any marriage ceremony is possible depending on your budget.

For my friend Peace, she decided to have a simple wedding of just the bride and family, groom and family with few friends, she planned to have a low budget wedding, according to her, all that matters to her is to have a happy home after the wedding.

Peace contacted me and also explained herself to me on her plan for the wedding, she only needed to
go for registry after which the traditional wedding will take place and reception follows immediately with entertainment of family and friends. For this, she just needed a simple white gown instead of the bogus and expensive outfit for her wedding.

She got 1 trouser length of the foam material by 45" and 1yard of floral lace fabric it was combined to make this simple gown.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process.

The foam material was used to cut the lower part of the dress which is a pencil gown from the waistline to the full length measurement marking out the vertical and horizontal measurement.

The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back part of the dress with zipper allowance at the back

For the upper bodice, I drafted out an illusion neckline pattern on a brown paper with yoke, the front and back were cut out using the foam material covered with the floral lace while the yoke of the illusion neckline was cut out with only the floral lace fabric.

The bust area was padded with warden to make it firm and it was sewn together with lining to cover the rough edges.

The upper and lower bodice were sewn together with a turtle neck and zipper at the back.

Finally, I cut out a basic long sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference to make a complete outfit.
