We are in the ember month and as it is here, it is time for celebration here and there, most people fix their wedding and even burial ceremony of aged people who had died long ago in months like this towards the end of the year, for this purpose, people make different outfits for one occasion or the other, sometimes each person had to attend two to three functions a day just to honor the celebrant or the family members.

Mrs lawal, my neighbor's sister is getting married and as a family member, they are all to put on white outfit just to identify the bride's family from others who who were invited as guest. Don't be surprised, it is the way things are done here, for all the family members, this particular lace fabric was gotten for each member of the family to sew for the wedding ceremony.

I made this beautiful A-shape gown with center ruffles with buttons in front and a 2in1 sleeves for Mrs lawal when she contacted me to make an outfit for her for her sister's wedding.

Cutting and sewing process

First, I cut out the A-shape gown by marking out all the necessary measurement on the folded lace fabric

To cut the back, the front was placed on a folded fabric to cut out the back part.

Considering that Mrs lawal is a breastfeeding mother, I had to make an outfit that will be convenient for her to breastfeed her baby. I slash the center front down to the under bust line then used the edges of the lace to make ruffles round the the opening and a long piece was used to pipe the rough edges where I sew the ruffles and of course where I will fix my buttons and button hole after which I sew the front and back together while the neckline was neatly piped with a bias tape

Finally, I made a 2in1 sleeve of a basic and a pleat at the edge. Buttons were fix to the center front at the opening for easy breastfeeding.

A shining camisole will be worn to the lace as an inner.

This is the final outcome and I hope she will be so glad with the outcome of this outfit.

Thanks for your time, comment, support and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great day.
