Every Monday, as it is our doing to always post our creativity in this community which I always look forward to and this morning, I will be sharing with you the cutting and sewing process of this pleated gown with pleated flare cape at the neckline.

Recently, I have been making a lot of gown with cape but there is a little difference as this cape was cut in a flare form and pleated on the neckline.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process.

First, I cut out ×2 of my client waist measurement to make pleat from the waistline to the length as I don't want it to be too full, then I cut out the off shoulder of the front and back upper bodice measurement with zipper allowance at the back

now the cape

I measured the round shoulder measurement after I had added a piece of about 2" to join the front and back together as off shoulder sleeve.

The measurement I took was then used to cut out the flare at a desired length for the cape in 2 places.

The flare was turned with a lining sewn together to give it a neat finishing and finally, it was pleated on the neckline.

This is the finished dress with zipper at the back.

I love your dress! The ruffled cape neckline is so feminine and the pleats are evenly sewn. Beautiful work!
