Hello hiveians

A beautiful Friday morning to you all as we approach the end of the week and I hope you all are doing great.

In sewing, so many things are involved, not just to cut and sew a dress or a style given to you by your client.

Today, I will be sharing with you the making of a six pieces skirt and how I carefully aligned the pattern in it to make it look accurate.

I was given this fabric to make six pieces skirt and a peplum blouse, the first thing I did was to look at the patterns and design on the fabric, if you have been going through my post, you will notice that all the dresses I usually make aligned with the patterns on the fabric.

After cutting out the first panel which is the center front, I folded the fabric in two to cut the center back making sure I placed the fabric correctly to align with the design on the fabric and the same was done to the other pieces,

When sewing, I make sure i did the alignment on the fabric correctly and this is what I have.

It won't look nice if the design or patterns on the fabric is looking funny,

In seeing, make sure you look out for the patterns on the fabric before cutting to know how best you can get it done without the finished dress looking funny.

Thanks for your time, enjoy your day.

Yes, pattern placement is important when working with large prints. You did a great job here.
