How I made this basic princess dart bustier with a straight long sleeve using white lace fabric
Hello hiveians
Sometimes, the Price paid for something determines the quality you get and sometimes, your desire determines what you will be given.
The making of this gown was less stressful if not for the fact that I had to iron every seam sewn and also the bust area needed to be padded so the most work done her was much on the ironing. Though this was done according to my client desire, she wanted it simple.
Today, I will be sharing with you the cutting and sewing process of a simple princess dart bustier straight gown with straight sleeve using white lace fabric with white satin for the lining.
As my doing, before making an outfit, the bodice will be drafted on a brown paper for dart manipulation and other adjustments to make the dress fitted before being transferred to the main fabric, in this case, only the upper bodice was drafted on a brown paper, then I cut out same shape on my satin and lining to be sewn with the lace this was done after cutting out the lower part of the dress.
Below are the pictorial view of the cutting and sewing process of this simple gown.
First, I cut out the lower part of the dress with my client's bodice measurement on a satin material before being transferred to the main fabric
Front part
Back part with vent slit
After cutting out the front and back of the dress, the remaining fabric was used to cut out the upper bodice by placing my drafted pattern on the fabric all these were sewn together and I finally have this.
I was not able to tack pictures of the upper bodice as my phone battery was down but you can visit my blog on how to draft princess dart bustier.
