How I made a top and trousers for my 2years old nephew from left over fabric for Grandpa's birthday thanksgiving service
Hello everyone

Greetings to you all beautiful people in this great community @needleworkmonday and hive at large, it's another beautiful Monday where we share our lovely creativity, I hope you are all doing great and having an amazing time with your needle and thread 😃. It is with great pleasure that I bring to you today the making of a top and trousers made for my 2years old nephew from left over fabrics for Grandpa's birthday thanksgiving service.

Recently, grandpa decided to gift the little children in the family this particular fabric and it was given to me to make beautiful and simple outfit for them, actually this was given to the children that are within reach just to grace Grandpa's birthday thanksgiving service and as directed, I made two same gown outfit for my sister's children which was so nice and beautiful

Then for my brother's two daughters, I made two same outfit for them as well with a gathered pleat and flare sleeves

Initially, I didn't intend to sew for my little nephew of 2 years old but fortunately for him, I had enough fabric left which I thought would be enough to make his own outfit and since I know how to make male outfit, I went ahead with the cutting and sewing process, luckily for him, the fabric was enough to complete his outfit.

Join me with the cutting and sewing process
First thing I did was to cut out the trousers using his bodice measurement I took, I cut out the front part with the waist, crouch and full length measurement, then the front was placed on a folded fabric to cut out the back with extension of 2"

I took I piece from the back and another piece of the front and it was sewn together

The two legs were sewn together at the crouch and on the waist line, I folded in 2" and inserted an elastic band of 1" to it

The trousers was set aside and I proceeded to the cutting and sewing of the top using the top measurement, I cut out the full length measurement for the front and cut another piece with 3" added to the full length, it was placed equally at the top and I made a shoulder slant of 1.5"

The front was placed equally at the bottom and I folded the top by 0.5" on the front bodice then I marked the neckline, shoulder and armhole circumference to the waist circumference plus seam allowance

At the back, I cut out a facing which was sewn to the back neckline

I also cut out a small facing to the front neckline before I sew the placket on it using a plain matching color fabric

The plain fabric was also used to cut the side pocket and sewn to the side of the top then I cut out a short sleeve using the armhole circumference measurement

The front and back were sewn together at the shoulder before the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and it was sewn down the the side slit with the side seam allowance

Finally, the hem was folded in with the side slit as well and I have the completion of a male outfit for my little nephew.
Two pressing buttons were sewn to the placket and two fashion buttons were sewn on the placket and pocket to beautify the outfit

This is the final outcome of the top and trousers and I hope you like the beautiful outcome of all the outfit I made with this fabric for the children in the family.

Such a thoughtful creation. Using leftover fabric to make a stylish outfit for your nephew is full of love. nicely done.
