Happy new month and a beautiful new week to you all, it's been awhile and i hope you are all doing just great, its good to be back to the community again after taking a break because of my impromptu journey, i was urgently called that my dad was not feeling to well, i had to rush down just as my other siblings did unfortunately, my dad condition worsen that i had to stay back to take care of him a lot of money was spent and to God be the glory he is getting better, I'm back home for now and i will be visiting him from time to time.

Getting back home, i immediately needed to get back to work as most of my close friends who are my clients have been waiting for me to be back, well I'm glad to be back to work and also to the community. Today, i will be sharing with you the step by step process of making a beautiful hand bag made from fabric for my friend.

As soon as i got back, i recieve an order from my friend, she needed a simple red hand bag with handle and zipper as well as an inner pocket which was actually one of my specialty, making pouches, hand bags and other items using fabric is what a love to do and in no time, i picked up my fabric and other materials as i began the cutting and sewing process which i will be glad to share with you below.

Lets get started with the making of this beautiful hand bag

From my main fabric, i measured and cut out two pieces of fabric measuring 15 x 11"

I cut out an interfacing of same shape and it was ironed on the main fabric then i also cut out lining of same shape for neat finishing

For the inner pocket, i cut out lining of 15 x 12" it was folded in two and sewn round leaving an opening to be turned inside out which i did after sewing and it was placed on one of the lining and sewn to it as the inner pocket

For the handle, i cut out another color of fabric just to make it look more beautiful and colorful, from the other fabric, i measured and cut out 25 x 4"

It was folded to the middle and in 2 before it was sewn on both sides just as seen below

From the center of the main fabric i marked 2.5" away on both sides and i placed the handle on it and it was sewn together

The handle was repeated on the other piece as well then i placed a zipper at the tip with lining and it was sewn and top stitch on the right side

The other piece was placed on the zipper with lining and it was sewn together and top stitch on the right side as well

I placed lining to lining and fabric to fabric and it was sewn round leaving an opening on the lining then i marked a square of 1" at the bottom

The square shape was cut out and it was taken to the sewing machine to be sewn

It was turned inside out through the opening on the lining and this is the beautiful outcome with some items in it

Finally, the opening on the lining was top stitched on and i have this beautiful hand bag here. I'm sure my friend will be so glad to jave this when delivered to her.
