Greetings to you all in this great community on this beautiful day, I hope you are all doing great and in sound health, it is my pleasure to share with you today from my sewing room the making of this simple headband with fabric flower as an applique for my little niece from the left over pieces after making her beautiful outfit.

My niece is a little girl who likes to have other accessories with her outfit most especially on her hair, since the time I made a scrunchie hair band for her to match one of her outfit sometimes ago, I have to make an accessory to match every of her outfit else she will have to ask until it is being made for her.

Sometimes ago, I made this beautiful ball dress for her as a gift but I didn't make an accessory to it as she always wanted, I thought she had let it go until few days ago when the recent outfit I made for her and her sister was delivered then she asked of the accessory for the previous outfit, now I knew I had to get to work.

I found the pieces from the previous outfit made and I decided to make this simple headband for her.

Join me in the Cutting and sewing process

I had made this fabric flower from pieces of the fabric as I cut out 6 pieces of 3 x 3"

It was folded in to the center on both sides and folded in two then I used my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch on the other pieces

It was gathered and tied together then I used my gum to add this silver applique on it and it was set aside

For the headband, I cut out a long piece of 30 by 4" from the left over fabric

It was folded in two on the wrong side and sewn on a straight line after which it was turned inside out

The seam line was placed at the middle and it was ironed flat

It was taken to the sewing machine and I sew 0.5" on both sides and I inserted an elastic band in the loop

It was sewn together on both ends

With my candle gum, I placed the fabric flower I made to cover the rough part where the band was sewn together.

This is the final outcome, now my niece can have her headband as an accessory matching with her beautiful ball gown.

I hope you like the beautiful outcome of this headband.
